4 Sodbusters

I only have two , but that red bulldog , and its slim-ness means I am ordering one of those ASAP.

Wow! That's a great shot ChickenPlucker. I guess great minds think alike.

John, you'll like the Bulldog. It really is thin, but it doesn't feel cheap to me. And the blade has already started to take the best patina in my collection.

Thanks for that great review!

It really helps to see them all side by side.

I have a Case soddie, but have been thinking of getting a Queen. Now I'm thinking about it even more because I like the Queen blade profile better.

My Case Soddie has a strong snap to it. IIRC, I have read of more variation in the Soddie line than in other Case products.

So based on Chewy's photos I bought a Queen Soddie, or "Country Cousin" as Queen calls them. I do like the blade profile better than that of my Case. I never knew how much I used the blade point until I didn't have one to use.

Thanks Chewy.

Great review!

I have a pair of Queen soddies, one of each size, but I think they are too thick. Your photos make me think I need to check out a Bulldog, and I really like the red color.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for your comparison review. Since the soddie is one of my favorite patterns it is good to see them all laid out side by side.

Chewy, can you not convex a blade on a belt sander??

I'm sure that I could convex just about anything on a belt sander; however, I don't have one.

In fact, other than the 6 or 7 knives that I already have that are convexed, I'm switching to diamonds. Convexing new knives takes too long and makes my arm hurt after a while. I just don't have the patience for it any more. Now, if it already has a convex edge...I'm keeping it!
