4" to 5" Nessmuk Recomendations (flat grind)

I was going to have beck make me one . And I never got around to it . When esee came out with the jg5 , i jumped on it . This was simply James Gibson idea of what a nesmuk should be . I have had mine for about two years
5 in 1095 steel blade . And is really a decent steel . It doesn't dull easy . The sheath is usable and made of leather .
Real gripy linen micarta handles . And the blade is coated to keep the rust at bay .
And the best thing of all less than a 120 dollars.

I'm ordering some blanks from Poland in 80CRV2, I'm interested to see how it turns out.

The original nessmuk was designed as an exclusive skinning and butchering knife by the man himself. Are you planning on using it is a game processing blade, or something more of an all around field knife because that will obviously change what sort of thing you're looking for.
That said, I know that Lucas Forge makes an exact replica of the original Nessmuk knife of you want to try that out. Looks gorgeous and I've heard only good things about his work.
Lucas Forge was going to be my suggestion as well or at least take a look. I believe that I am going to order one of his Kepharts in the near future.

Also, your use should have a lot to do with choosing. I would generally not choose a Nessmuk style knife for general use.

Among the highly experienced knowledgeable outdoorsmen that I have known, such as Forest Rangers, Game wardens, guides, etc, "Nessmuk" is a dirty word.
