40 dollar budget

Want something interesting, pick up a CRKT Graphite - about $40, give or take. Something about the Klecker lock just fascinates me; it operates just like a lockback, but using only the handle scales. Also, it's the only lockback design I've seen with a flipper, and the IKBS on such a cheap knife is awesome. I just wish the blade stock was a bit thinner, like the NIRK Tighe - it makes the knife a bit heavy and hurts cutting performance a bit. Still, I find it aesthetically and functionally intriguing, and it's one of only a few production NIRKs (all CRKT), with the custom world being exclusive to Brian Tighe as far as I know.

Thanks. Glad you like the Graphite.

Kershaw has plenty of good options. I just picked up the Thermite which I really like. I think it was right around $40. Rick Hinderer design. It has the "Spanto" point. Came sharp out of the box then I got it to the point I can cut phone book paper and push cut regular paper and shave with it. Considering I suck at sharpening this thing really took a beautiful edge. Some may not care for the G-10 on just one side but there are plenty of quality, beautiful Kershaws all over the place within your budget. That is what I'd go with if I were you.
