Originally I was going to finally get a CR and buy the Umnumzaan but the more I looked at it the more I just didn't really feel it. Now I'm wondering if I can get a custom for around the $400 mark or if those are out of reach at this price point. My current favorite knife is the ZT 0560, actually quite annoyed they stopped making it because I wanted another one. I like larger folders, I love titanium (not just slabs, but textured like the 0560), and I want steel doesn't matter as long as it's "premium" which won't be an issue at this price point. Suggestions?

Maybe a three sisters forge gorgon. It is a large ti framelock that has a textured show side, and it is a custom, near that 400 mark

The first two suggestions are great. Consider also a Reate Horizon D full Ti. Your original plan for a Zaan isn't a bad idea either ;)

Since you like the 0560, a Hinderer XM-18 3.5 would be a great option.

Back in June I came into some free cash (won a biggest loser challenge) and had my choice down to an Umnum and an XM-18 Skinner. I went with the XM Skinner and have no regrets. Both are great options. Just depends on the intended use. The Hinderer is a much thicker blade stock. That can be considered good and bad.

Add a bit more $$ for an XM-24, which is closer to the size of ZT0560 than XM-18 3.5 (which is about the size of ZT0562). The very moment I got my xm-18 3.5" I was saying man this is smaller than I thought. You can tell I also like big folders.

It could be CRK is slipping a bit; the last 'zaan I received came with a noticeably off-center blade at no charge. As in all things, "Let the buyer beware."

This 100%

Thanks to you and your pictures I've got my eyes and heart set on a Half Track and an XM-24 Spanto. :D
My poor aching wallet is already in mourning for the spending to come.

OP, from what I've seen a Hinderer would definitely be a nice option.

if you're going for the half track, dish out the difference and get the MP-1, its a great knife, you wont be disappointed, Its my favorite knife , just love it, full Ti, unbelievable smooth flipper. The half track maybe a little smaller if your comparing to an XM 24,

I do like the Hunderers and but it's a valid point about the 3.5 being smaller than I'd expect. Problem is the XM24 is also more than I want to spend.

I think the XM-18 Spanto has a good size, I don't like small blades, only 3.5" and up, it definitely feels bigger, you wont be disappointed, plus, you get one of the best customer service with Hinderer, they have sent me screws, washers all for free

Outside the box a bit... I'd go for the Ti Freeman 451 Flipper.

Zaan gets my vote. Call me picky but finding teflon washers in a $500 knife really turned me off.
