5" fixed blade help......

Have you given any thought to going custom? I reckon a couple of the BFC member makers would be able to do something in CPM3V or Z-wear for around that price point. Might be worth looking into.

The survive! Gso knives are great. I have a 4.1, it's a little short for you, but you could look into a larger model. Price will probably be a little over your budget.

I'm a big RMD fan.
That said, if you'd rather have your knife a little under 5 inches, as opposed to a little over...how about a Lionsteel M5? If you can go just a bit smaller than that; I'd recommend the Bravo 1-LT

I've got two 5" blades. SOG Seal Pup Elite and a Gerber Strongarm. Just in case you
were going to go for a less expensive model.

What he said. I would also add the Kabar Navy mk 1 in with either leather or kraton. Also straight edge or partially serrated.

I created a website over Xmas break with tools to answer these types of questions. I ran the tool against the original requirements and there are at least 50 knives that fit the bill. Here is a video of me running one of the tools 'BladeIntel' using Mono's requirements:

All the tools are free, no ads, no email registration etc., if you guys want to try it out please PM me with feedback, good or bad so I can make it better.

My thoughts exactly. I've got a ba-dass 10"OAL/5" CPM3V blade on me right now, with pinecone scales/G10 liners & a very well done leather sheath for right about $200 from the Fixed Blade Exchange (Custom) here on BF - knives that size within your budget pop up all the time, so you likely wont even have to engage a maker to have him build you one, just keep your eyes on the forum for a bit & snag what speaks to you - I've had nothing but great experiences working with the makers there and I've bought dozens of fixed blades that way. Nothing against production knives, & if you would rather have a prod. knife, I'd say find a GSO5 - they don't make that model any more & I just sold mine, but it fits your stats very well & is an absolute work horse & a great design....if you like choils, the GSO5.1 is the way to go. Best of luck!

So many great ones in this size. Maybe look at blind horse knives highlander. I'm really thinking about getting that joker

I just took a look at the Lionsteel M3 M4 M5. Nice looking knives and all have handle options. I am stil leaning toward the Vipers, but some of you might change my mind.

Screech Owl Knives Commander with 5" blade 10" Overall.

Ratmandu. If you haven't tried one you should. Custom Shop with the satin finish. Out of budget but I am looking hard at the Spartan Difensa.

You can't go wrong with the Ratmandu. Pretty much the best all around blade you are looking for.

There are many makers here on BF making quality knives in your price range. I would recommend JK Knives.

The scrap yard Scrapper 5 is a great knife...I love my Becker bk 15 and the Survive knives are all great. Maybe a little smaller, but the Esee 4 with aftermarket scales can do it all too.
