5 knife battle royale....with a twist (very pic heavy)

Very nice man review man. And I must say that even in a blind taste test, 7 out of 5 dentists recommend the BK2 for a hard use woods knife :). That must be the reason so many of us have them...

the hiking/test/learning experience lasted about 5 hours altogether round trip. The fox was a cool piece, wasnt for me but it sure is very well put together and comfortable. its gone to the exchange and im sure itll find a good home

Cool, so he's getting a Becker or two? Good way to write a review and spread the Becker wealth.

Yeh he is for sure getting a bk2, i even showed him websites and prices when we go back so he can order it. the bk7 is next on his list.

Clich,

Have you handled one of the larger Esee knives like the 6 ?
The handles look suspiciously like the Ranger ones, but I keep hearing good things about them.
To me they look like they would feel like a brick like the Ranger rd6.
With the exception of the Ranger TFI all their micarta grips look uncomfortable to me.
The Esee Junglass is the only one in their big blade line that the handle looks very ergo to me.

Nice review by the way man, the Fox Parang gave me the same feel, I was looking at their KLO though (Kukri like object)
I think Fox does one with a full survival kit on the sheath also.
Mister Becker's handles just feel so right in the hand I am kind of spoiled now.
They look like they should feel bulky but instead feel wonderful. Its one of the things that has turned me into an even bigger Becker fan.

I wonder if Ethans grips would fit on an Esee or Ranger ..lol Hmmmmm

Thanks for the review.

i recently got the Fox Khukri... it's a very KLO, but more khukri than many stamped blades, due to the thickness. you just don't see that in KLOs as a rule.

haven't chopped with it as yet, and the handle may need a tennis tape wrap, but it feel like it would be very effective. the weight is in the right place.

@ Bladite

Thats actually what I like about the Ontario klo 1/4 inch thick stock.
I an anxiously awaiting the Machaxe though.

I havent handled an esee 6 but i have handled a 4 and if the grips are similar then i would say they are brickish. It wouldnt be a big deal on the rd-6 if the belly wasnt sooooooooo big. Its hard to get your hand fully wrapped around the thing, and feels like you dont have a great grip the whole time. Ive read reviews on it before i accepted the trade and people were singing it praises so it may just be me, but i think ontario has room for improvement on the handles

Nice review. Nice place too, but don't you hate it when people ruin natural beauty and have to paint graffiti on every damn thing? Pisses me off.

yeh it sucks. Its a hot spot at night for teenagers to smoke some wacky stuff and drink. the worst part is its right on the appalachian trail and the rangers harass the good people spending the night there, assuming that they are up to no good. I admit i went up there a few times to party in my younger days, but never grafittied a thing in my life, and i always cleaned up after myself (and others). Theres alot of broken glass and beer cans everywhere too. I have half a mind to start an effort to (re)beautify the place and get some volunteers and clean it up, but itd be trashed again by the next weekend.

Freakin' awesome review Clich. Looks like Ben has a good teacher, that's for damn sure.

Glad you guys made it out, and I'm very glad you picked my favorite as the winner. :D

Good job .Is there a lot of difference in the BK2 and the BK10?

bk2 is 5 inches long and .25" thick. the bk10 is 5.5 long and .188" thick. When it came down to really working it hard, the longer, thinner blade doesnt feel as strong. For example we did some pry tests but only with the bk2, rd-6, and parang. I didnt dare try prying with the bk7 or bk10, not that they wouldnt/couldnt do it, but i wasnt going to risk it.

Dead on reviews in my opinion. From above, I think the BK2 kind of begs to be beaten on - it is so wide for its length that it just seems unbreakable.

Awesome stuff. Thanks for the unbiased review. I agree with his choice. The BK2 had me at "hello", too.

Great reviews, great photos, great post. Really nice stuff, man, thanks for taking the time to entertain us!

Thats cool!!

An unbias review of the blades is always a good thing in my book.

Well done Clich.

I'm thinking I might should do something too.
