That was a great review. I think the knife world needs more side-by-side comparisons like this, with blades of equivalent size/profile/intent. Your review also proves the old rule that price & features are often not a reliable indicator of knife performance.
I agree 100% with you on the issue of a choil on the BK-7. I understand Ethan doesn't care for them in general, but I think a properly cut choil (and perhaps the elimination of the thumb ramp) would take an already outstanding knife up another notch in usefulness.
Great job clich, I really enjoyed that. That's the first Fox Parang I've seen. I like it, are you going to swap it off?
Great review, mate. I'm the designer of the Fox Parang Bushcraft Jungle, I agree with you about the lack of the point as a camp knife, but this knife was intended to be a chopper primarely. Anyway the false edge on the upperpart of the blade help a bit on stabbing, see i.e. the video below at 1:49

The hidden tang was because of less wheight AND less vibrations when chopping.
Ask me for more info on the Parang Bushcraft Jungle if you want.
Thanks again, Alfredo
Thanks for checking my review out. I completely understand how it was designed as a chopper, and I know its impossible to design a blade that can really do it all very well. the parang was such a nice light, quick, compact chopper it would be a great compliment for woods work. My compliments to you for a great useful and comfortable design, and thanks again for your kind words.
