$50 hole in my pocket

Once your friends get past that fear, they will understand. I think everyone has to overcome this at some time or another.

I don't care if its 400$ knaf it goes in my pocket and I use it when I need it. Scratches... Whatever. Loosing it, probably not loosing something I take alot of pride in and know the value of... But even so, if someone is prone to loosing things because they are careless, I can understand that.

Scratches can be sanded out. Spa treatments etc. And really who cares. It's a tool. I'm not buying just to sell or keep in a safe.

Personally I'd rather have a good knife or two with a good heat treatment than multiple okay cheaper knives.

With that said I'd recommend Manly knives. They have good heat treatments and very thin behind the edge in a few steels offered. Working man knives. Good prices too.

I come down on the other side of this. I've carried a knife almost every day since I was twelve. I've come to understand knives as tools to be used. I understand that they can get worn, dirty, damaged, lost, or even confiscated. I don't want to spend so much that those things hurt or wear on my mind. At the same time, I want a decent knife. This is why I've been so excited about the recent explosion of quality budget competition with brands like Civivi, Tangram, Ruike, etc.

If you can get a good or even great knife for $50 or less, why wouldn't you? We are seeing more knives using G10 and ball bearings in this price range. You might not get a modern super steel but could your needs be met with D2, 9Cr18Mov, Acuto 440, or 14C28N?

Already have several knife cases full of mostly 8Cr13Mov Kershaw/CRKT knives that cost less than $50 and don't need or want any more of knives like those. Most of the knives that I'd want to buy to add to my collection now would cost a minimum of $150-200.

However, I recently spent $35 on a 7" fixed blade Glock FM81 Field Knife. No specific plans for using it. Just wanted to buy it because my carry guns are a Glock 17 and 26 and I just wanted to have a Glock knife too.

I also recently spent $55 on a vintage Laguiole folder w/a leather sheath and sharpening rod just because I thought it looked cool. The plan is to maybe use it as a steak knife at home and/or while visiting one of the many fruit farms located near my home this summer.

So, I guess there are a few things I can still buy w/just $50. ;)

Delica on the exchange.. FRN will grow on you.
I've had many knives with frn scales/handles and the only one that has stuck around is my bug out ( which is most likely getting custom scales soon). Nothing wrong functionally, but they just feel cheap to me. To each their own.

Looks like you got a killer deal. Beautiful find.

I'd actually buy myself a Kershaw Emerson CQC-7K.
Mostly because I recently lost mine, but also because it does everything I need while at work.

I'd grab a Kershaw Dividend or Leek. Good quality knives, made in the USA and top notch warranty.

Need a new pocket clip or body screws? Give em a call and they'll send you some for free.
Dull the hell out of it? Send it in and they'll sharpen it for as long as you own it.
Literally break the blade? They do blade replacements for $10.

The possibilities are endless, rat ontario d2, kershaw leek, buck 110, reike, atmos, civvi, 5 ontario hickorys lol

Just depends on what type of knife you want

Right now the only knives I would like to add to my pile that are under $50 are a Swiza D06 and a Kershaw Skyline.

Today, I would grab a Gerber Guardian or a Ghostrike.

In a folder, probably Kershaw Link, or a Case Russlock.

Because that's what I'm in the mood for today.

I would spend that 50 on a cv case trapper or stockman. Under the condition that I could inspect the knife in person before purchase.

There are so many options that ive been looking at as well. In a traditional for 50 a case stockman or trapper or a buck 301 stockman. I own them all and they are great knives . Im a more modern folder the rat 2 is about as perfect as you can get imho. The aus8 takes a very good edge and holds it for a good amount of time, for 30 bucks i dont think you can beat it
U could get a rat 2 and a vic tinker or recruit and have ya need for 99 percent of what a knife is used for.
2 other suggestions are a buck vantage or spitfire. Maybe not the prettiest knives but very functional. Anything from buck would be a good choice. The 55 buck would also be a great choice
The bucks and case i mentioned are made in the usa.
