I've been hunting for a 0350 FOREVER for under $100 (I know, it's not realistic). I like warranties though. Spending close to a hundred without a warranty scares me a little (a lot actually).

The Kershaw JYD II is an excellent knife. It's beautiful, practical, opens nicely, nice liner lock, it's just good.
The Rake is amazing. I EDC'd one for a long time, it was great, not one complaint.
Just about any Kershaw with a composite or upgraded steel blade is a great choice.
Kershaw is a great choice in general but if you're looking for the higher range - Composite or Upgraded Steel is the way to go.

I think I may be leaning towards an upgrade in steel over 14c28n. I doubt I'll see much benefit in the way of performance (I rarely sharpen to less than 20 degrees). But it would simply be nice to have a composite or s30v type steel in my Kershaw collection. I like the JYD2 better than the Rake from a looks perspective. Which surprises me...

I vote for the Turbulence. It doesn't get nearly enough love. Blade HQ is selling them for amazing prices and I got mine when they were $50 (they're even less now) because I knew they were normally around $75. I just did it for fun but it's a knife I really love and consider great quality, even thought it's probably my cheapest folder and I have folders 10 times it's price. It has great fit and finish and ZERO blade play with great centering. Great stonewash and really nice G10. I love it's shape and size and how cool it feels in the hand. Once I held it, I fell in love with it.

Ugh, I've caught myself staring at a JYD2 composite blade and s30v blur. I don't know why the JYD is growing on me...

"Growing on you" will take a whole new meaning when you have a JYD 2 in your hand and start flipping it. Blur is fun to flip, too. I think I like them both because they both open with a big thwack! .

The size of the JYD makes it more fun for me, though. Awesome knife.

Random question. Why do all the pictures of the JYD2 I see for sale have a Kershaw bag in the photo? My first thought is that it comes with the knife. But I've never seen a Kershaw come with a bag. This is not a selling point (otherwise I'd own a BUNCH of Benchmades... and I don't), more of a curiosity question.

Does anybody have a picture with the JYD2 in pocket?

The more expensive/obscure Kershaws come with a zippered pouch for some reason. I think you'll enjoy the JYDII a great deal. The composite blade steel is really nifty and IMO functional art of a sort. It's guaranteed to be a conversation starter for sure. Even non knife people have commented on my JYD's blade. The blade profile is excellent for a larger blade and is very graceful as far as I'm concerned.

Just a comment on the Blurs.

You can get the Green or Purple "sprint run" in CPM 154 for around $92! That is a screaming good deal for the money, if you like green or purple. Soon the Carbon Fiber Blur with CPM 154 will be released and that has my name on it!
