500th Post Giveawawawawawawaway!

awesome, thanks for the chance! I'm in simply because I'd like the chance to try out a knife design that's outside of what usually appeals to me, and nobody really has the dosh to investigate every style and manufacturer out there without a little help from the community.

Hey, so this will be my entry:

Recently graduated college, working as an EMT for 13 hrs a week, work in the ER full time, and research on the side, I am applying for medical school. This means I'm broke and will be for a LONG time. I've got a fair amount of knives, and to be quite honest, I don't need another one.

However, I have a new coworker (also a paramedic), that just moved from urban southern california to here, rural virginia. Huge anti-gun, anti-knife, and we've had a few fun friendly debates. He recognizes the possiblity though, that a knife might be useful. Also, he agreed that if I give him a knife, he will carry it and see if it really is worth it. Broke as I am though, I can't afford to buy a new one for him, and I'm really unwilling to part with any of my collection, and I'm equally unwilling to give him a cheap crappy one (if it breaks or hurts him, it will further convince him that people shouldn't carry knives).

If I win this giveaway, I will be giving it to him, and hopefully converting him into one of us!

Thanks for the opportunity and for your generosity!

I would appreciate a new knife, but I don't need one.
So, if I win - I'll match your $60 so we can donate a decent blade(or multi-tool) to one of the solders stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan

I am a grad student. Being in school way too long makes me not as happy as before :(. I do know receiving new Spyderco makes me exciting and having a smile on my face. Limited funds, limited Spyderco, and limited happiness :thumbdn: . If I win, I will probably get a RAT/EESE Izula because I want to expand my knife horizon and I don't have any fixed blade.

Thanks for the contest, sir. It's really generous of you!

Take care.

I appreciate the opportunity!

All the knives I own, which at this point are various versions of the Spyderco rescue blades (except for a Victorinox Gardener) are USED for rescue purposes on the mountain.

Being put into such usage, they really do get trashed. Usually dropped, or accidentally stabbed/sawed into rocks and other things where blades shouldn't go. They also get thrown into an autoclave if they get blood on them, which does slowly degrade the edge holding. Never had much human blood on the knives, but I spend a LOT of time cutting out chipmunks that get tangled up and bloodied up in ropes and lines the ski area operators use. Probably 80% of the wear on my rescue blades is cutting high-visibility ribbon to mark off obstacles and sudden drops. I can assure you the knife you are offering will be put to good use.

Thanks again for the chance to "refresh the supply"!

I'm not in, either, but nice giveaway. I can't think of a reason to buy a new knife at all.

Doesn't mean I won't...I just can't think of a good reason.

Lol, I run in to that problem regularly of getting a new knife without any particularly good reasoning behind it.

I would appreciate a new knife, or probably multi tool since my EDC was stolen from me at work. Kinda of feel naked with out it. Was helping out a high school and next thing I know the person that borrowed it from me never returned. Oh such is life.

My 56th birthday is coming up near the end of this month. Please give me the knife as a birthday present, so I can give it to my wife, so she can give it to me on my birthday.:D.

Great giveaway! :) As far as why i deserve it. Well.... Ive been working ever since the summer started for me. My father was unemployed for about 18 months and my whole family was living off of my mothers salary and were in some pretty serious debt :(. Ive been working as much as i possibly can this summer to hopefully help my parents out by taking over some of the bills that i accumulate (cell phone bill and food mostly) I had recently gotten a student loan for myself to buy school supplies (such as a new computer) for this upcoming summer.. It wound up going to bills and food for my family. I havent bought a single knife in a long time. Ive gotten all of my knives and a majority of my things from trading off or selling things of mine to help pay for it. Granted I may not be in as bad a situation as other people i still look at my situation as pretty damn bad.

Oh, also. Just so everyone knows, my girlfriend will be co-judging these responses with me. :P

This will be my entry even if i don`t think I deserve a new knife ,if I win I will give a knife to a guy at my work who likes to hunt but has no fixed blade knives .I have no idea what is wrong with me but I feel like I need a FFG purple Endura and I can swing it right now you and your better half could give me my wish.I would really use the knife as much as one safely can in todays society it wuld remind me of the first really good knife I ever had an Endura 1 a birthday gift from my late mother she was a knife lady like we are knife guys .
Great contest maybe you should let the guy win who will match funds and give the knife to one of our soldiers .
