500th Post Giveawawawawawawaway!

Man. I didn't anticipate having this much difficulty settling between a few people... and no I'm not going to name more than one winner for this part of the giveaway, lul.

put those few names in a hat, and have someone pick one out...

I think what you are doing is great. Here is my story:

I do not want the knife for myself, but instead want to give it as a special gift to my Brother Tom on his 40th birthday on August 17.

Tom is one of the greatest guys I know, yet has befallen hard times for the last ten years. He has gone through multiple career changes and trainings only to be laid off when the companies reorged or the economy went south. This cycle has been repeated at least 3 times I am aware of during the last 10 years. Tom is an avid outdoorsman, yet has not been able to get out much over the last ten years due to working every possible job he could find to keep his family afloat. He is supporting a wife and two young children and would never think of taking a handout to make it. Tom, very unselfishly has not purchased a single thing for himself during the last ten years so that he can put every dollar towards the families needs. He is definitley old school and has great character.

I bought him a very inexpensive Gerber folder for his 30th Birthday that he has carried faithfully for the last 10 years. It is worn and tattered, but appreciated by him none the less. I think it would be incredible to present him with a new knife for his 40th birthday. I can't think of a better gift for his 40th! I know he would cherish it and probably have it the rest of his life.

So that is my story. Thanks again for the gesture. You are going to make someone mighty happy. :)

What you are going through here is why I took the easy way out and just let the random number generator pick the winner and in my latest giveaway I am letting the winner choose from a selection of knives so I won't have to.

I'm just a slacker I guess. :D

Why I want this knife...
well I'm gonna be honest with you...I'm a student in high school with not a lot of options. My strict parents dont let me buy knives with my own earned money because they think that as soon as I get my hands on one I'm going to become some sort of juvenile delinquent and go off starting crap. I understand that they are trying to be protective, however, they are very very wrong. I want to own a knife to use it, yes, but not for stupid or bad reasons. maybe through you giving me a chance at getting this knife and using it wisely I can prove to them that I'm not the problem child they think I am. I would deeply appreciate that.

Thank you for your generosity and consideration,

-Rainer

Why do I deserve a new knife....well, I think it's because I've just found this site and found out I really have an affinity for knives. I had a Buck that my dad gave me, until someone broke into my truck and needed it more than I did. Now I'm on the hunt for the perfect knife to give to my son. So as for why I deserve a new knife...it's for fostering a new hobby and something to be able to pass on to my son and perhaps start a hobby we can do together.

i see some people are typing sob stories on "please give it to me i need it".and some are true.(?).im personally not going to make up something and lie for a knife..even if it was a becker necker.haha.

im just a college student who does his best.i would love to get a new knive and would be feel privileged to get anything free.

so bang bang boom.thanks for doing this for the knife community.

I would love a new knife, but I'm sure with the economy being what it has been that there is someone much more deserving. Cheers to whoever ends up with it.. Christmas in August? :-)
