I have finally reached my 500th post on BladeForums. The tradition here on the Kershaw sub-forum is to have a giveaway at that time (and it seems at random times and for just about any reason). To honor that tradition, here is my giveaway contest.

Prize:
Brand new, unused OD-1. This knife has been taken out of the clamshell and flipped, handled, and otherwise admired. It has not been used to cut anything, nor has it been carried.

Rules:
*You have to have already posted at least 25 times in the Kershaw Sub-Forum (prior to me posting this contest)
*No Internationals
*1 guess, and one guess only
*Don't screw up, and don't pick the same time as any poster before you.
*You have to have your guess in prior to start of Stage 8.
*You break a rule, you will be DQ'd.

Contest:
The Amgen Tour of California is taking place this week. Which rider will win Stage 8 of the race from Rancho Bernardo to Escondido? To allow more than one poster to pick the same rider, the tie-breaker will be margin of victory over the next nearest rider, in minutes following this formula 0.000 (e.g. 1.500 equals 1 minute and 30 seconds). [Thanks for providing a template, Thomas.]

The closest time without going over wins.

In the event that no one picks the winning rider, the highest finishing rider picked will be the winner. The tie-breaker will be the closest time either above or below to the rider behind.

Follow your guess with your favorite regional craft beer and/or brewery. If you forget this part, you're eliminated from the contest.

Thanks Jon. I agree, those are 2 great breweries. They both have some very good brews. I don't think either of them produce anything I don't like.

im going to sit this one out considering amy is somehow frustrated that i just one 5 knives :-/ go figure.

but as far as beer goes :) i like dogfish head brewery in gaithersburg MD. they have some of the highest % alcohol by volume beer that can still be called beer :) something like 24%.

Tyler Hamilton by half a minute.
I know I'm DQ'ed from this contest, but I could'nt help myself. I been following cycle racing for 25 years.

My favorite local brewery is Blackstone Brewery in Nashville, and I like their Pale Ale.

Man, you guys sitting out are really cool. I appreciate it! :D I am jonesing for another Kershaw but between Valentine's day and my wife's birthday this month, I am tapped out for fun toys for myself :D

Congrats on 500 PG! It seems like just yesterday when you had only 2 posts. :D Nice gesture on the give away! But since I have no clue what the Amgen Tour of California is, where these places are, who these people are and what they are doing, I'm gonna sit out and watch.

But the local seafood chain here, Awful Arthurs, makes quite a few great brews! My fav is the IPA.

Good luck to youse guys!

BTW, I had Escondidos yesterday for lunch at the mexican place. Very tasty! They don't make their own beer, but a few cold Dos Equis did the trick!

Thanks DV. The giveaways are one of the things that make this place so fun. Mmmm Dos Equis, es muy bien (è molto buono).

I have an OD-1 in the works for the passaround already, but I do like fine brews!

Dogfish Head, Bell's, Breckenridge, Stone, Avery...

Life is too short for cheap knives or crappy beer.
