I could not figure how to embed the pics so I put a link to them. How do you embed pics in the post ? I suspect is a premium feature, right ?

Yeah, right. We have all said that more than once in the past.

I opted for the canvas micarta, partially because I have maroon linen micarta examples from the 70s and partially because the vendor's images made them look like the linen micarta was solid black with the fabric barely visible. But yours looks pretty good. As if I need an excuse to get another variant of the 501.

:D Well, I must say it was hard to type the above quote with both hands finger crossed LOL

The black linen micarta really pops out outside in natural sunlight. Inside the house not as much but still shows nicely. It's also my first micarta knife and love how it feels.

I am also very impressed with the vendor. My knife came with a defective back spring and they immediately offered to send me an exchange after I wrote/send them pictures of the issue. I am not kidding but in less than an hour they had send me a return shipping label. In about a week a had the exchange knife in my hands which has no issues.

I did noticed though that when comparing my stock 501 to the micarta DLT exclusive that the stock one has a much stronger back spring. Also the spine on the stock is visible wider.

On the other hand the micarta knife is smooth all over, polished, all edges rounded, nothing catches your hand when you "fondle" it, unlike my stock 501 which I had to take to the buffer and sandpaper to soften its sharp contours.

Looks great!

My recent 501 acquisitions (these two and the SK) have bumped all other knives out of my pocket. I've come full circle back to where I started, the Squire :thumbsup:

thank you Sir. gonna miss the canoe but until I get an American made one.....I'll be good with this 501.
