GAW IS ENDED --Thanks to all who took time to write your thoughts on marriage.

That’s right, my wife (Judy) and I celebrate 50 years of marriage on Sept 10. WOW, where did the time go? I’ve been waiting for a good time to do a Traditional GAW and now is the time. Here’s the happy couple!

The GAW is a Remer Stone Custom Case Trapper in stage and turquoise. I bought this knife a couple of years ago for $200.00. It did come with an off center blade. Never bothered me so I never sent it back. It’s a beautiful knife comes with display box and certification if I can find it.

GAW RULES: Must have posted at least 50 messages in the Traditional forum and your membership to BF started BEFORE March 1, 2015.

RULE MODIFICATION: Consolation GAW for any one regardless of join date or number of messages. A Small Canal Street Trapper.

Post in the thread that you’re in-- and if you’re married and want to tell us how long you’ve been hitched and what your secret to a good marriage is—that would be great—but not required. My secret? Love God first then my wife—and be a good listener—to both.

I’ll do a random number draw a week from today on Tuesday September 8 after 6:00 pm left coast time.

Here's the Remer Stone Custom :

Mike, beautiful gaw and congrats good sir on 50 years!

I agree with you completely on the secret to marriage. I have only been married for five years, but I have found that the more I love, the more I want to love, which of course causes me to love more. Neuroplasticity is the scientific way I suppose in thinking of it, but either way humility is needed.

I would be honored if you would count me in.

Thanks, and congrats again. :)

I'm in. I don't know the secret to a successful marriage. I'm on my third one (5 years now) and it's not going so good...

Congratulations on 50 years!! What a blessing! What a wonderful picture and couple you make....lovely!!! Not an entry as i have been blessed with so much generosity already. I just wanted to wish you 50 more years of bliss!!:D

congrats!
Sept 29 will mark 14 years married for me - I think the secret is the 2 words "yes, dear" interspersed frequently with "I love you, too" ;)

I'm in and thanks for the generosity.

Congrats on 50 years, Mike! I don't know all the secrets, but I've been happily married for 15 years. Maybe marrying a class valedictorian with a 4.0 gpa (high school AND college) is the key. I'm not in for the GAW, it should go to someone who would use and truly appreciate it, that is a great looking knife. Hats off to you for your generosity here on the porch!

Don't have the posts I don't think but man congratulations on 50 years. My secret is we never go to bed mad my grandmother told us that on our wedding day and it's worked so far 10 yrs here.

Congrats Mike! Not an entry. But my wife and me just "celebrated" 24 years yesterday. 50 yrs? That's great Brother. Here's to many more.

Congratulations on your milestone! I'm not married myself. I'm lucky to have parents that are married for over 40 yrs however. I'll get there someday!! (No hurry at all)

I'm in for your generous giveaway and that looks like a mighty fine knife. Interested to learn more about it.

Congrats on the 50 years Mike and Judy !!!!! Well done ! Beautiful knife !! Please count me in. My wife and I will celebrate our 55 years married on Oct. 2 . Thank you for a chance.

Congrats to you and yours, Mike!

That's quite an adventure (half-century), that I'm sure is filled with loads of stories and good times :).

It would be neat to see a picture of you guys (50) years ago, taken in the same manner as you are today (from the photo above). I'm pretty sure "selfie" technology wasn't out yet to get the same exact perspective of you holding the camera, but someone must've been around to capture the moment ;).

Not an entry Mike but posting to congratulate you on your years of marriage. The experience and tales are priceless. :)

Congratulation to you BOTH !! Fifty years is a stretch for sure.
Not an entry, also just wanted to say Congrats  Very Generous GAW Mike, VERY Generous!!

Congrats! I am in for the chance, so thank you for your generosity. I hope you have many more anniversaries to spend together.

Wow. 50 years. You have my sincere congratulations! I truly hope I can celebrate such an awesome milestone at some point (I haven't even been alive HALF that long yet!). I'm in, and thank you for your generosity.

Again, congratulations!
