5160 Bar Stock

Aldo...I was looking for something like 3/16 or 1/4 X 1" to 1 1/2". I would rather 3/16 X
1" to 1 1/2". It all depends on what you have/can get and price. Thanks

I'd like some 5160 in 1/2" and 3/4" round or square. I'd like it in 1084 too. Any chance???

I'll be in the Iron Bound on Monday and due a little looking around. 3/16 x 3 might be a bit tuff to find. 1st thing you have to due is figure out who would use that size, and then you go find them. Simple as that!! The 3/16 and 1/4 x 1 and 11/2 are more in the ballpark.

A lot of the rnd bar used for coil springs is 1070.There are a lot of spring shops that use 5160 round because it simplifies their heat treating process. I had spoke to an outfit in CA.looking to get rid of a bunch but when scrap went to $.28 per pound the whole lot got shipped to China.(He who hesitates is lost!:(). Maybe we can go looking up in Mass. next weekend.When due you plan on getting to Georges?

Charles I sent you a PM about this. Otherwise, the last time I checked, Admiral Steel had it at a really great price but you had to buy it in 22' lengths. They'll cut it down for you into thirds for shipping.
