Here is a heavy duty kiridashi I just finished up. I made this with the intention of hard use, it has a durable etched and plum brown barrel finish and is made of super tough 5160 steel. The handle is epoxy soaked for a very solid and water resistant handle. It includes a round spine for strength and comfort and a hammer/knocker butt. The main grind is a chisel style like traditional kiridashis but has a small bevel on the back for ease of sharpening.

100% sole authorship

.262 5160 Steel
6.5" long
Antiqued Finish
West System Epoxy soaked 550 paracord handle
Kydex Sheath with paracord for neck or pocket carry
Sheath is teklok compatible
Knocker/Hammer end

$65 Shipped sold pending funds

Thanks! It's not parkerized, I don't have my solution in yet. :D

This one is a Birchwood-Casey Plum Brown Barrel finish followed by a light bleach etch. The browning and the bleach react to form a durable antiqued finish. The plum brown was used on old muzzleloaders way back in the day and the bleach makes them seem like have been around forever. Since it is a barrel finish it helps to prevent rust and is pretty durable.

This is one of my favorite finishes, I just did 8 knives with this finish and have more plum brown on the way with my parkerizing gear!

As an addendum, being the guy who silently swiped this knife, it's exactly as awesome in person as it looks in the pictures. The lines of this knife are all clean and flawless, and the knife is very comfortable to hold.

That plum brown looks great. I haven't seen it in forever. You Rock.

Thanks, I'm a big fan of it. Durable and cool looking.
