52100 Camp Knife

Glad someone finally grabbed it. It was sticking in my craw like a piece of popcorn shell.

From the looks of that Camp Knife, that had to hurt :p

Sure, what would you like to know?... :)

Its like holding a HUGE straight razor in your hand.....All I have cut with it so far is paper.. slices clean all the way through the length of blade...

..balance point is just at the end of the choil, right where the edge starts. so blade forward balance will make it an ideal chopper/limb lopper.

I WILL eventually use this blade , but for now, I am just enjoying handling this knife and admiring the craftsmanship that went into its making...well done Bill!

I spoke to Bill about using this knife before I decided to purchase it.. He assured me it was up to the tasks I asked about

I kept looking at this ad like alot of others were, and was actually gone for a couple of weeks, and when I came back from vacation and it was still here.. well,...hehe...its mine now......

This hamon is incredible, grinds are very even, handle fits my hand just right ,( I have medium sized hands) and the shape of handle gives me a secure grip....

this is my first forged blade, and if you have not checked out Bill's web site yet, I urge you to take a look at the torture tests that he uses to check out his blades made of this same steel that this blade is forged from.........looking at what his test blades go through increased my confidence that this blade will perform its intended tasks with no worries at all....

this blade is ready to rock :D

Thanks for the report. Makes me want one too. Actually, I've already talked to Bill about making me a matching set of a big camp knife, similar to this one and a little EDC to go along with it. Now, all I have to do is come up with the money.

I saw this knife when it came up for sale but not having seen any of Bills work I let it go. I just bought two of his EDCs and did not hesitate a instant after seeing those knives to ask Bill to build me one that is VERY close to this blade.

I can't wait. I will make sure to get pictures posted when it arrives in a few months..... I may die of anticipation disease. But I hope to survive it.

Jim

You took my plan! :D

Yes, even back then I HAD an EDC and wanted this so bad it hurt, but just couldn't swing it at the time. Once like it is definitely on my to-get list.

You know Bill you should be seeing pattern of interest here....

EDC- SM Current model small slicer utility blade (Everyday Carry)
EDC- XL Large 9-10 inch Camp knife (Everyday Chopper)
EDC- Kit Guyoto Style 8-9 inch Kitchen knife (Everyday Citchen)

All forged from the 51200 and all with EDC style Micarta handles.

This would be a hierloom Quality set and be all the knife any man would need for life. ;)

t1mpani, don't get upset you can order one too. :D :D :D :D :D

Bill

And don't you think I won't! Now the question is, which EDC handle do I match, the green or the white? ;)

And I think bigjim is quite right. Oh the possibilities...

Something about this knife just does it for me. The next time I've got some dough for a nice knife, this is it!
