I like a dark deep carry clip when I wear dark pants and a light one when wearing light colored pants. I don’t want my knife to be too obvious, sometimes
same with me so it is a matter of taste. in fact my preference changed over time so I'd suggest the OP to give it a chance

Not related to the clip but I'm really kicking myself right now. I had the satin version in my cart last weekend and decided to hold off on getting it for some dumb reason. I went to buy it last night and it finally sold out. Ugh

Maybe keep your eye on the exchange. I have seen these popping up from time to time.

I grabbed one of these back at Christmas. They were on sale! $150. It easily has the best Benchmade action I've held on an Axis lock knife. I've had a plastic Bugout, a TI Bugout, and now this one, and I think this is the winner with the 20CV blade. The G10 is so bland that it's amazing.

Consider yourself lucky. I have the black blade version, love the color scheme, but hate the QC. Uneven grinds and a scratched up thumb stud. Probably a returned one because it doesn't have the box seal. Debating if I should return it.

I'll possibly buy it from you, shoot me a pm.

Anyone try to install rockscale critter scales on these. For some reason the standoffs won’t fit into the ti scales.

I think the standoffs might be slightly different on the frn and g10 scales. I had the same issue with rgt scales and ultimately circumvented it by ordering a flytanium backspacer.

I bought two of them. I love the Bugout and that was a great deal. The top one was a BHQ exclusive but I added dyed Ripp’s Garage Tech micarta scales and a flytanium thumb stud and backspacer.

Thanks that’s very helpful. I just ordered a flytanuim backspacer.

Honestly, I’m kinda annoyed. For $134 bucks they should throw in some plain spacers so installation wouldn’t be a problem.

I can’t speak for the 535, but I went with the geared back spacer when I went with the Rockscale Design titanium scales for my 537. Worth every penny. The black graphite is very cool.

Finally got it finished. 3 weeks and $325 later, it’s nice but not sure if it’s worth the expense.

it’s a keeper though. The Bugout seems to be one of the best designed and sized knives in production right now.

Finally some carbon fiber from Benchmade. Higher price tag, but CF/S90V is gonna be not much more than what lots of people pay for a plain knife and upgrade scales. Case and point, the experience fq55 fq55 just shared. That new aluminum/M390 knife looks weird to me.

That looks great! Nicely done!

I know this is an old thread, but I gotta say - just got the Bugout in question and I got no problem with the clip.
