5K U-Pick-I-Pay Black Friday Giveaway

Wow, awesome GAW, GT! I always enjoy reading your posts, they're always informative and well conceived. I'd love a chance at this contest.

For me, I'd like to get my hands on the Tidioute Cutlery #14 Lick Creek Boys Knife, 2-Blade, Antique Yellow as my first TC/GEC. Looks like a great pattern in a perfect size for EDC.

Thanks for your generosity!

Congrats on 5k posts, GT, and well done coming up with another creative idea for a giveaway!

With $100, I'd pick up a few non-standard Opinels I've been looking at for a while but haven't got around to buying for myself.

No. 10 Corkscrew

The No. 8 "Opignel"

And this French-themed limited edition No. 8 (I particularly like the baguette). :D

Thanks for the chance, GT, and good luck to all the entrants!

Very generous, I am in.just got a knife catalog and was looking it over pondering what would be a great stocking gift to myself. I found that the new Case Peacock Appaloosa Tribal Lock pattern CA26714 is really cool, or any bone handled version, plus any CaseSod Buster Junior and an Opinel #8 in carbon steel. I think that is about the 100 limit, if not, the Opinel can be dropped. Appreciate this opportunity.

One other pattern that caught my eye is the Case Drop Point Russlock CA26764 in Campfire bone.

What a great guy. How about this - Trestle Pine Knives Buddy Ash A8? Thanks for the chance.

abcdef, the rules I decided on don't include fixed blades. Thanks for your entry, and feel free to edit it to include a traditional folder instead of the T.P. Buddy.

Not an entry, but wanted to say: Very generous of you, as usual, GT! I'd like to point out that almost every one of your posts is like 20-30 posts in one, so really, you are well above 5k. :) I think of your forum name as "5 thousand quotes"

A bit humbled by your generosity here.

I joined this forum quite a while ago, mostly out of interest in one hand opener, pocket clip knives. When my oldest boy died of injuries from A’stan this past July, I had to go through his stuff. Among his things, I found a large assortment of knives- not one tradional folder. In sorting through them, I realized I’d lost my love for the tactical stuff - and other things as well. I let the weeds take over the garden, and the guitar body I was painting still sits on my bench. Except for a couple ( the Ek Bowie I gave him when he deployed, and a Tighe folder his uncle gave him) with sentimental attatchments, I’ll be selling those off. The clincher was in August, using one of his locking, half serrated Gerbers cutting plastic field tiles down in a muddy hole on the farm, sand and grit caused the lock to fail and it closed on my index finger cutting it to the bone.

I dug out my old Shrades and Grandpa’s old Camillus easy opener jack, rediscovered this forum, and bought a few too many traditionals. Now I’m at the point ( like many here, I suspect) where I have a hard time picking a couple for the day’s carry.

So this is not an entry... the only one I hope to come across someday is a Schrade Walden 881Y Lg Stockman in yellow delrin to match my old trapper. It’s hard to find one on which the blades have not been ground down by an angry beaver with a grinder.

Your posts are a joy, and useful for trying to keep up with the old knives and what’s in your pocket thread, so please don’t stop!

I have a thing for whittlers so my pick is the S&M#43 1/2 Dimpled Jumbo Whittler in Black Reverse Worm Groove Bone.
If I'm lucky enough to win I'll cover the shipping and do my own GAW to pay it forward.
Thank you.

4c48a7281f1a3f28f31babd3d512046d--tactical-folding-knives-ford-bronco.jpg Wow what a kind offer and a very cool way to do it as well. Im in and Thank you for the opportunity. I would be very pleased to own a Lick Creek Boy's Knife. There at just about every one of the GEC DEALERS I look at so I'm sure it won't be hard to find if I'm lucky enough to be chosen that is lol. I'd probably prefer Antique Yellow Bone covers like the one in the picture I added to my post. However I'm really not very fussy I'd be happy with whatever was available at the time. Congratulations on the Milestone and once again Thanks for the great GAW. ✌

I'm in and my wish would be a clearance (I don't mind the minor issues) Grohmann M300SD Russell Lockblade in micarta (as advertised on the Grohmann site).
I'll take the postage to remain in the limits.
If this is too complicated the 340 lockblade will be perfect.

GT, congratulations on your 5K posts milestone! This give away typifies both your generosity and ingenuity. How fun!

Not an entry for me, please, as I won one of your previous GAWs and I'd like to see another porch denizen benefit from this one.

That won't stop me from sharing a list that I think would make a fun trio of knives. Maybe it'll inspire someone. :)

1. A. Wright Buffalo Horn Lambsfoot
2. Case 3347CV Medium Stockman CV in Yellow Delrin
3. Victorinox Waiter

Thanks for offering up this GAW, GT! Good luck to all the participants and I'm looking forward to continuing to see people's choices.

Very cool and interesting giveaway! Congrats on the milestone.

I've been wanting:

Wenger EvoGrip 18 in Yellow
Case Tiny Hunter in Grey Jigged Bone
Victorinox Alox Farmer

I recently received a 340s from duncan which was a scratch & dent based on the S on the back, and boy it's a sweet well made knife. It had gap in the wood and maybe a scratch ( could've come from use ) ,but I would say they probably have some quality standards for even this stuff . I'm willing to bet they will only let a good functional knife out the door.
Definately a great choice for this gaw, including their Russel 340s.

IMG_1943.jpg Amazing GAW! How can I resist? I would love a 2017 Schatt and Morgan #43, 1/2 dimpled Whittler in Matte Black Micarta.

Awesome GAW! I don't know if I could go 3 months without a new knife. How about GEC 48 Weasel Single Blade Amber Jig Bone or similar.

Thanks!
