5pc Colombian surplus military machete assortment ?

I gave the JKM Tapanga to another neighbor across the street, so now all I have left is the one I modified and the J.K Files Sunflower brand Tapanga.
I'll see ask my uncle if he want's that one.

I definitely got a better batch the first time around.
Love the little Barrington pattern, and the billhook.
That long Latin I rehandled really seems a bit to flexible.

I got a pair of the 19.5" tapangas (Martindale #202 pattern) in one batch awhile back. They are extremely heavy and thick back near the handle, like 2.75 mm. I'm giving one away and will chop the other to somewhere around 14" or so and go from there. Mine are SON DOVE branded.

Henry B, the one longer panga with the longer handle could be sharpened on the incurved side at the tip and used a bit like a billhook.

I got both mine from sportsman's guide.
Unless you're a buyers club member standard price is $30+ shipping which is not the cheapest price out there I don't believe, but luckily I only had to pay $16 shipped for my last one or I'd really be unhappy with it.
If I could take another survey and get that $25 reward I would and gamble on a third pack.

That's my thought exactly if it's not as thick and heavy as the others.
I tried it with my panga befor cutting it down and on top of the weight the handle made it unusable in this orientation.

That long one with the back curve sharpened would make one helluva utilitarian machete for sure.
Probably the perfect tool for weeds, ivy, and wild grapevine in my backyard.

I just ordered another 5pc assortment.
I'm still hoping to try one of those small broad pangas, or really any pattern I haven't gotten yet.

I already told my uncle back when I gave him a tapanga that if I got another billhook with my next order that I'd give it to him.
We'll see what I get this time, at this point the fun of seeing what you get really is the best part.
They're cheap enough that I'm okay paying $30 ( signed up for the SG buyers club this time ) just for the surprise and giving people a useful tool if I don't want or need any of them.

This bolo is a real winner, probably my favorite so far.

Boy does the blade sing, better than any other machete I have or had ( not tried a Tramontina yet though )
I reshaped the handle a bit, and I think I may stain it.
The blade is nice and straight with a very well done distal taper.

It's definitely not going anywhere.

I decided to just darken the handle with a torch.

I think this is going to be my new favorite machete.
It's shorter than my 18" imicasa Latin pattern, it seems to weigh less, yet it delivers more power into the cut.
Boy does it sing like crazy too, based on everything I've read and have experienced I never thought a gavilan machete would.

A cotton twine wrap and healthy coat of beeswax for the handle and this thing will be good to go.

I just finished modifying and rehandling the cane machete from my most recent assortment, I will be giving it to my teenage cousin.
I did some things I normally wouldn't do for myself, but I know that cool factor is something my cousin will appreciate.

The handle is an old piece of maple I had , it's been torch darkened, and obviously a gutted paracord wrap.
The handle actually does work quite well, I wasn't just going for looks here and did give some consideration for function and comfort in hand.

I can't quite place it, but this machete reminds me of something, a military issue survival blade of some kind I think but I have no clue exactly what.
It may just be something from a movie.
