Current build out is a Buck 104 Compadre with D2 and Flat Grind! Time for handle material.

I want to do this poll with just the generic material to start. We may or may not do a poll for coloring, depending on the material chosen. Burlap is set to exactly what it is, so no coloring problems there. I'm not thinking we'll do anything exotic on the coloring either. We'll see what the poll yields!

Feel free to post example photos of the various materials! Have at it!

Burlap is rugged looking like it was meant for the outdoors and camping. The color is interesting because it changes tones depending on the light. It’s purty enough for display and showing off to.

You need a "Yes" or "Any Of The Above" choice.
Since black G10 (what can I say? It would match three of my knives.) is out of the question, I voted linen micarta, in the hopes of an "Ivory" color.
(yeah, I know. "knottachance".)

I’m getting more excited the farther along things get. I wasn’t too thrilled about the D2, but I’ll live (happily). I’m a stainless guy. It will still be a fun knife. Can’t wait to pick one up.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

My first instinct was to go with the burlap Micarta. It looks so nice on the 110. However, it's another one of those things that my gut says just don't fit the knife. Hard to put my finger on. So I went with canvas micarta. I think that would fit a blade that is meant to be a worker in the outdoors well.

Although, even though the majority made different choices than I would have here and there, I still feel like this is a winner.

I like the ivory micarta idear. linen would be quite nice. doesnt matter though no bad choices here.

I like ivory micarta the only issue is if it's a hard use knife will it get dirty and stained? Maybe after awhile it would turn grungy. what do u think.o_O:D

This knife is going to be sweet! Micarta is my favorite material. Here's my thoughts, linen micarta looks beautiful but can sometimes come out too glossy and will look almost like plastic. Burlap micarta is nice looking, but so much resin is required to fill in the gaps of the burlap that the knife feels like a chunk of plastic in your hand. Canvas micarta is great looking, feels nice and has a real warmth when in hand and will actually "patina" from use. Hand oils and moisture will give it a great look making each knife unique to its owner. To each his own, just my thoughts on the handle material option. GO CANVAS GO!

I voted canvas Micarta. I think it fits with my intended use as a camp knife. Although I do prefer the looks of burlap vs canvas or linen. So I will be happy no matter what.
