6" Kitchen Utility Vegetable Knife Preorder

Knife making is fun and challenging but time-consuming. So I have to decide how to spend the time. I have made a lot of potato knives, and I'm ready to make different stuff now.

Totally respect that  And I'll be ready to try for that 'different stuff' when it comes up. Besides, I just saw that there's a gun that fires potatoes, and you know what they say, fight fire with fire and all that......

When the Pototocalypse comes we will be ready!! :D

ETA: A maker posting from the beach on a Saturday, how friggin' awesome is that

No wonder it's so easy to relax in here....not my monkeys, not my circus...... :D

Sorry, just trying to lighten things up with the last couple of posts, hope nothing came across any other way.

I wonder how many people want the "potato knife" to actually use daily in the kitchen vs just collecting to have a complete set of CPK offerings. Doesn't really make any difference but this sudden demand is kind of surprising to me, especially given that it's more of a specialty than a general use knife. My daughter and I love ours but we're serious cooks. Probably the only CPK knives I'll ever be able to get without a pre-order list.

Or are just wondering what they might be missing out on with all the recent buzz. I'm far from a serious cook, in fact, I try to steer clear of the kitchen as much as possible, being much better at providing the table fare than cooking it :) But I like good tools for whatever task I'm at, and the potato knife is just that, a superior tool. We cut a bunch of corn off the cob last night for canning and I did the bulk with the CPK. I grabbed our other half way decent knife for the last ear. Two passes down it had me laying that knife down and picking the potato knife back up. No contest.

I'd preorder two, given the chance. I would also pay more than 150 to do so.

Me too. A lot more!

I'm at the beach posting from my cell phone. We'll see how this goes... I saw this thread and wanted to add something to it

This year knife making crossed the threshold into being our primary business and the direction that Jo and I have chosen for future growth.

The potato knife costs $150 because that's what I feel it is worth. I won't charge more for it than that.

I appreciate your post and of course totally respect your personal opinions and decisions. I am only posting because I want to give you a perspective as a buyer and user of this knife. And it is worth a lot more than $150 to me personally. I love this knife and use it more than every other knife I own, combined. My niece's fiancee, who is a chef, covets my potato/vegetable knife so much . . . I would love to be able to give him and my niece one as a wedding gift next spring. In fact, I hate to give something used as a wedding gift, but I might have to give them mine - LOL!

Of course, I am the moron who actually re-imported one of your pig stickers from a guy who owned one all the way over in South Africa because I could not find one here in the US at the time. So I am not normal in the head - please keep that in mind. :)

Thanks again for everything you do.
