Interesting... the 0909 looks like it would be very comfortable in use.

The others looks a bit too "Star Trek" for me, especially the Sinkevich designs.. The orange lanyard loop on the 0220 looks like it would dig right into the palm of the hand in a hammer grip.

Thanks for the post.

I can not wait to make me a Franken 0450! Satin blade with the CF .

Definitely getting the 0095BW. Not sure about the 0804. I love all of my 0801's and my 0808. I might have to see that one in person. The George is pretty heavy. The 0456 is interesting. Decisions, decisions...

I have moved away from flippers, what happened to the thumb studs ZT used to use? Only ZT's I have now are 566 and 350. Guess will have to wait for next year to see what they offer. Just my opinion though.

Commentary for each model:

0456: Funny little bugger. I'm sure this one will go over well, as people love the smaller designs. Kind of sad personally that the new "small knife" had to be a Sinkevich design, since he has so many fantastic bigger knives. A ZT Poluchetkiy would be wild.

0804CF: A very nice, straightforward Rexford design. Not a huge fan of the monochromatic offerings this year, but the clip looks well executed and the CF presentation scale keeps the weight to a very impressive 5.1 oz. This one is a likely buy for me.

0450CF: I like the original better, but making the lockside DLC coated matches nicely with the CF scale. Had they done a CF scale on the original 0450, it would be way too much like the 0452CF.

0220: My least favorite of the bunch so far. Very cool to see ZT working with Anso, but I'm surprised they used an entirely new design, whereas most ZT collaborations are basically production versions of customs. Not sure how I feel about the inlaid emblem or the use of so many colors (blue, orange, black). Anso has some nice smaller designs, surprised they went with a 3.5" blade.

0909: Kind of a huge disappointment for me actually. Big Les George fan, and already own a Talos. Seeing it turned into a linerlock flipper is basically the last thing I wanted. That said, I'm sure this one will be a hit with the people who like the old-school ZT's. Should be pretty beastly, especially at 7.5 oz.

0095BW: Ugh, wish this was the limited edition model for the Russian market and the stonewash/satin was the production model. I love this design, but monochromatic blackwashes do not do it for me. They look kind of cheap to me. Otherwise this knife is an A+ for me.

YMMV

If I had to pick just one it'd be the 0456 Sinkevich with the size, blade shape, blade steel, titanium milling and blue accents. All for a street price of $220! However, with a 3.25" blade and aluminum backspacer it weighs 6.6 ounces! It's probably the thickness of the titanium and blade.

Also, interesting increase in the use of aluminum this year. Aluminum backspacers and clips, looks like ZT is trying a more cost effective way to inject some color into their models.

I hope they make the 0095BW in a smaller form factor. That would be a buy for me in a 3 - 3.25 inch blade.

Imho, from my perspective/tastes, ZT has gone too far away from their original theme and toward art knives.

That said, some of these look like very nice knives. The 0095bw and 0456 especially.

Nothing screams "must have" to me at this point, but none look bad either.

Edit: I like the 0804cf and its a possible buy. Also likely to get the 0450cf.

They grew on me quick.

So ZT builds two old school style knives in the solid pivot, g10 liner lock 0909 and the huge almost 4 inch bladed 0804 and they are too far away from their original theme... And yet the two you like are probably the two fanciest ones of the new releases.
