6 with no molle locks?

Again, I think this is all a misunderstanding on the dealer part and simply overlooking to include the MOLLE Locks in the package.

Most likely. I know he posts here and am sure he'll take care of it.

As an aside, I thought it was interesting that the sheath has the older triangular RAT Cutlery logo on it. I imagine this supports the theory that it is from an older stock?

I know most everywhere is out of stock, it's very possible he had to scramble to find the drop point and black sheath after the order change. He probably either had black as the only left in stock or found someone who had an old stock sheath.

I'm sure it was a misunderstanding. He posts on this forum fairly often and I'm sure will address the issue as soon as he sees this.

Have you called him? His number is on his website.....I've ordered through him before he's pretty easy to get a hold of.

I haven't called him- I'm supposed to be busy working on other things (damn bladeforums are a continual distraction:rolleyes:) If I've not heard from him in an hour or so, I'll step out and give him a call.

Again, all of this looks like a misunderstaing although it would be better if he would advertise the system as he is doing now and include the MOLLE lock on the page since without it makes it very confusing without it being listed, and it should indeed be in there if he is selling this as a kit. After hearing the whole story though I know the dealer is not trying to screw anyone and most likley this is from old stock and put together.

Whatever happens, the OP will get a MOLLE Lock. All he needs to do is email us and we will take care of it.

As for "everywhere" being out of stock it is not because we are behind on shipping. There has been a run lately on all ESEE knives. Our shipping is still going out on about the same time frames as always.

I think dealers have been selling stock like Coca-Cola. A few places that have “# remaining in stock” that I frequent were dropping like mad. Good for the vendor and good for ESEE.

Jeff, that is this is the understatement of the month. Typical call to a dealer the past few days has resulted utter frustration.

UPDATE - Just got off the phone with Tim from Tactical Defender (he actually called my wife, apparently he went back and found her number in his phone from when we'd changed the order) and he is taking care of the situation. Just as everyone had guessed, he'd gotten a knife only and sheath only from his suppliers (in order to expedite shipment, since he knew it was a birthday present), and the fact that this didn't include the locks just slipped by. He's shipping out the locks right away, apologized for the inconvenience, and thanked us for our business.

Seems like a great guy, and reinforced the consensus that it was just a simple mistake.

I appreciate everyone's comments and support, and especially Jeff's pledges to make it right if the vendor wouldn't. Another example of what a great company this is, and the quality people you guys surround yourself with.

Thanks again

Late to the party, but wanted to add that Tim was great to deal with last year on my junglas pre-order. Tops in communication and follow-up.
good to hear things were taken care of painlessly.

Oh for sure, wasn't trying to imply anything negative. Lots of new customers from the holidays + tax returns = new customers with disposable income. There have been tons of new people popping up here and most of them end up buying most of the set after they've been here - I know I got the 5 and 6 after spending my time looking at them all day on this forum ;)

With places experiencing a run on stock, you are going to get down to stuff that's sat around for a while or had to scrounge to find.....like a black RAT sheath.

Awesome, glad to hear it's resolved. I've ordered from him and whenever I call him we end up talking for 20 minutes or so, he's a great guy to deal with and he's done some things for me that he didn't need to that I really appreciate.

I'm glad to hear it turned out well.... most often you don't hear anything about the GOOD things that dealers/people do.......you hear about the bad. I'd hate for this thread to turn anyone away from dealing with him since he has been a GREAT vendor for me as well as three or four other people who posted.

Looks like this thread turned out well for everyone. If nothing else Tim at TD just earned some more business. ;)

Can someone email me Tim's (Tactical Defender) email address. My email: jeff@eseeknives.com I'd like to thank him for taking care of this situation so fast. Awesome dealer. Wished all of our dealers were that good ;)

I will as I always do, bend over back wards for my customers. I don't make it a habit of opening bags and taking from one and placing into another, but this was for his birthday and they already waited long enough because of the switch from clip point to drop point.

I was expecting a huge order from one of my 3 ESEE suppliers but for reasons I won't discuss here it fell through and didn't arrive till today. Knowing it was his birthday and that they where so nice I wanted to make this as fast as possible and get him his new ESEE-6.

Yes, I took a Knife only and placed it in a box with a sheath only and thought I was going to make his day but forgot about the MOLLE Locks, sorry, my mistake, won't happen again. It's not something that is done often but like I said I will do what ever it takes to take care of a customer.

He and his wife like all my customers will be taken care of, that's a promise.

For those of you that mentioned me in a good light and spoke up, I appreciate it very much, you know me and you know that I'm honest and not here to rip anyone off or mislead any one, I thank you.

Stay safe.

Tim, much appreciated. Thanks for taking care of this as fast as you did. Wished all of our dealers were like that. When I first read the post I thought "here we go again" because we have had a rash of dealers opening bags and then not shipping everything. So, I owe you an apology. After the OP posted how he received the knives then it all started to make sense. Again, we appreciate you for jumping on this and getting it handled as you did. I know a lot of people here appreciate that kind of service. Thanks for being a dealer of ESEE and thanks for caring about the end user ;)

Jeff

Glad to see everyone taken care of here......next time you want to buy a knife, give Tim a call he's a good guy! Great prices, too.

Tim,

I just want to reiterate that I have nothing but good things to say about you. I posted here first because I wasn't sure if my situation was unique, and whether we'd made a mistake in our ordering process. Once the details were out here, it became apparent that it was a simple and understandable mistake, not the shady dealings we were fearing. Obsessis and others were quick to point out that you are a stand-up guy, and that I could count on you making things right. I certainly appreciate your personal and quick response, and will definitely come to you first for my future purchases.

Thank you again,
Ehren
