Thank you for clearing that up a bit more, Pianoman.

After I posted it dawned on me that I couldn't for the life of me remember exactly how it did add up.

Perhaps it is the evil powers of satan obscuring my memories of the courses I took in college.

I have only very little knowledge about it --- anyhow, our elders said that when a long Keris was made with 7 or more Luks it means that it was made as a primary weapon --- meaning for killing purpose! The short Keris with 6 or less Luks is made more for self defence purpose --- not for killing.

Normally a Pendekar (ie. Pencak Silat Fighter) will always bring a long keris positioned at the rear part of the body or he hold it with his right hand and the other one which is a short Keris positioned at the front side of the body --- It is placed that way under peace environment. When a Pendekar place those two Kerises the other way round or he hold the long Keris with his left hand that means a real killing business going to happen any time!
