I seem to be EDC'ing more knives around the 7 inch blade mark with a slender profile. It seems to be the most generally useful knife size for the most range of tasks.

I can prove this with logic:

a) anything bigger than 7 inches is too big.

b) anything smaller than 7 inches is too small.

from a) and b) it can be concluded that:

c) 7 inches is the right size.

7" inch is fine, but it's nice to be able to draw from a full tool box of options. Just about right for everything means less than optimal for most things. Leave the one knife option to the goofballs on reality TV shows, and pack the tools that work best for your purpose.

I get your humor, (unlike some others, it seems) but I would like to have some examples of your tasks for which less is less and more is too much!

I like 3-1/4 for most things besides food. Bigger than that and I want a hatchet or machete. ;-)

Nope. Two 3.5 Inch blades are more better.

If it works for you, great! Not for me, but they do have their place.

Glad you like your 7" however your logic is flawed. Using the same logic, I can prove that 5.5" is the best OAL. Also, are we talking about knives here? :D
