711 vs bk9

Well I have both or had both. I sold the 711.
The 711 is a nice knife, I didn't care for the square choil.
You could buy a BK9 and a BK2 for the price of a 711.

This!

711 is a limited run -- bk will be around for a while.
inportant questions: what do you want to do with it and are you looking for a safe queen.
if you want a chopper, get the bk9.
if you want a safe queen or a GP camp knife, get the 711

i have no opinion, just like posting :)

What's a 711? If you need batoning get a BK9, if you need a slurpee get a 711.

711 now BK9 in two weeks after the funds refresh ;) Especially because the price of the 711 is going up in a couple of days...

I would say 711 now, the bk9 will be around for a while. That being said, I haven't acctually got my 711 yet n don't have a bk9.

I believe so, I know there are several guys making kydex for it or leather. The reallity is you would probably end up with an aftermarket sheath for the bk9 too.

i understand that but i can get one for a bk9 for 15 dollars. the cheapest ive found for 711 is 30 that means i am either paying 77 dollars for a bk9 and two sheaths or 150 for the 711 and one sheath

711 is a far far superior knife in all respects, worth about 10 bk9s. Try reposting this question on the Busse forum and see the different answers from not so many Beckerheads. Btw you can't buy a Bk9 and a Bk2 new for the price of a SY 711.

Apples an oranges really. First off in respect to size, isn't the 711 a 7 inch Blade? That would make the comparison to the bk7. As for quality the bk line is great quality for the market its in, that being said its not in the busse kin market. I love my beckers and I've loved a few busse kin, but its apples and oranges. The science will tell us one thing, the fans another, and the companies another. so you really can only settle it for yourself, pick which one you like better based on your criteria like looks, profile, ergos, handle material, steel, etc. Buy a sheath for whichever that is, that you like. Be happy. Both will kick ass and be tough as nails.

I have both and they are different tools for different jobs. I'd say the 711 is a tougher knife, but the BK9 is the better value by a large margin.

Well, that helps me out. At least I know what a 711 is now. Most definitely go with the BK9.
