711 vs bk9

I have to say........this is some funny stuff to read. I have read in this very forum the call for the BK 9 to be done in .25in. Now, some are saying that .25 is too much blade. I guess that .25 is too much blade for a 7" or 9" but not a 5". Some like the grivory handle, some wouldn't have anything but the micarta handle at an extra cost. Some badmouth the Reserpine-C handle and some love it (count myself in the latter group). Some badmouth the Beckers sheaths, some bitch cause the Scrapyards don't include a sheath. Both sides have their coolaid drinking fanboys. I have knives from both companies and wouldn't trade any of em. It's just entertaining to read from those with ruffled feathers.
Cheers

I was kinda thinking the same thing. As far as the izula goes, I'm with CCMI. I love my izula 2, it's amazing.

I love the Izzy blade shape too, and combined with that solid handle it's quite a knife.
Those cord-wrapped BK14's are pretty cool, tho, especially when the blade is stripped. I prefer Kabar's steel.
For a 3"-or-less state you'll want to go Izzy. I'm in the same boat, and the BK11 being too long is what started me making knives.

EDCTAC
I forgot to mention. I love ESEE's also. But I don't get my indies in a wad if someone disagrees with me. And I would never say anything bad about another man's choice of knives (or gun for that matter). Even if it's a $10.00 made in China Wally World. Most people buy the best they can afford and don't need to be made to feel small because of it.

same here, I can only give the advice I have, witch is not always best for everyone. And after that I don't really care :D

Well why don't you just piss in our cornflakes, huh? I guess I should take my BK2 and throw it away now...useless piece of junk it is.
First of all...to the OP.
The Becker handle is better in every way..unless you have really small hands (like in the BK commercials)...JMHO.
While the steel used in the SY is a fantastic steel, with a great heat treat...I have seen BECKERS made by KABAR hold up damn well to any and all normal use...even some over the top abuse.
AND...that grand canyon choil or ricasso is just way to much on all the SY knives IMO. I like having leverage to carve with...that basically cuts your power on push cuts in half.
Now, I didn't say that BECKER was 10X's better than SY, but you did...and thats just nuts.
Finally! I got a rise out of you Becker heads...lol. Come-on! Defend your choice, that was the question wasn't it. Scrapyard kicks the crap out of Becker! :D

There are plenty of companies out there that make great knives, and there are even more great knives. The reality is either knife would be a fine choice, it all comes down to what the buyer wants/can spend/likes. Everyone is different, and every knife is different, kinda like women. I wouldn't go to your house and tell you how much better my wife is than yours. You married her because you love her, not because of what I think.

So...this is your house?

Yes it is in the Becker forum...and that was curious that the question was posted in the Becker forum...to ask which to buy...a Scrapyard or a Becker...humm curious. It couldn't be just to rag on the scrapyard, could it? When you bring up my company's name it then becomes my business and my house. This is now my house.

Come on man, you should act here the same way you would act in the Yard. it's not cool, and it gives us a bad name, please just calm it down

As I mentioned earlier, I have both knives in question and both are fine tools. I'm not a fanboy in either camp as I find it to sophomoric and narrow-minded. However, if this "maddog774" person is affiliated with Scrapyard knives, he comes across as quite insecure and paranoid. Not a good reflection for the brand. The knives stand up for themselves...no need for chest thumping or pissing contests.
