it's probably real since they aren't expensive enough to make counterfeiting that profitable, but you can buy one here on the for sale forum for less if you watch for a couple days

Check Aliexpress, if it's not offered on that Chinese site they probably aren't counterfeiting it. (yet)

What makes you think that they're fake? You should buy from the well known dealers. GPknives for example. It's even cheaper there.

GPknives, BladeHQ, and Knifeworks all offer them cheaper IIRC. You'll notice you have to do something to see their prices, and that is because they have an agreement with Benchmade (in order to be a dealer) to not show prices below a certain level. Grips and mini-grips can be had from reputable dealers for under 70 bucks. Having dealt with all three, I can confidently recommend them.
