#77 Washington Street!!

I was lucky enough to reserve an ivory bone HJ. Could not get the WJ reserved, though. I am glad and excited to finally see what the HJ will look like. Going to be a great looking knife. I like the punch better than the pen blade. But I still want one of each. Maybe I will get lucky and score a WJ.
Thank you Charlie for designing great looking knives.

Charlie, have to agree with you as to the Washington Jack, such a classy looking knife. As others stated,so glad you brought this pattern back. Originals are almost impossible to find.

I managed to score one the last time and have one reserved for this run, they went fast again. Brett, here is a fall pic from the last run:)

And the wave begins with a great one!:)

Thank you Augie

I picked up one of the first GEC versions from the forums here at a fair price. It's perfect except for not being a spear point. I didn't know there was a new improved version coming...

The 2OT is a good example, but due to the collectibility of original Old Timers and the scarcity of that model, finding an unused 2OT has not happened yet.

Schatt and Morgan did one a few years ago for their File&Wire series. Don't have a photo of mine, but found this picture online. The fit-and-finish is on par with Great Eastern.

When I was browsing that auction site last night, I saw two nice examples of the 2OT. Great lookin' knives, to be sure, but not so greatly priced, LOL. Still, very cool to see.

That's a nice example of the pattern, Augie. Are the covers 2nd cut stag?

That's the 500 Washingtons Jack. ;)

Jake, the covers were called polished stag, does have the appearance of 2nd or 3rd cut stag. The color could vary quite a bit.

LOL, asking price of $700 marked down to $560. What a bargain.

Being from Springfield, it's safe to guess you're having a Pony sandwich for lunch today? ;)
WIU graduate here.

John & Jamie, those polished stag scales on your Washington Jacks look superb!

I really like the spear point! If I had to nitpick though, I think a coping blade would have been a little more useful then a pen. No-matter, 1 has my name on it!

Now, the HJ's are sure to be a stunner! Really looking forward to those - I put in for 4 variations on those!! Oh, my aching wallet.....

Nice Stag John!
I've got a safe queen very like it in my archive.

Yours too, Jamie, and great patina !!

I wish I could use every one of my knives, but archiving them demands I keep them mint.
Besides, didn't someone say, "watch out for the man with only one knife?"
Or was that "one gun??"
:D
I think that refers to marksmanship!

Hi. Can I ask by what form of sorcery you were able to do that? I don't see them anywhere on the GEC website. Do I need the secret decoder ring?

Help a brother out! Please?

PM's are the best way to ask and answer such questions, and I have sent one to you.

It won't be too long!! Talk to your local dealer!!

Charlie, I got so excited about the new Harness Jack I was having a hard time waiting for them.
Fortunately, yesterday I found Barry had this HJ 7 available. It's so nice it's made the wait bearable.

Just wanted you to know, I'm still looking forward to the newest HJ but.... there's no hurry :).... tell GEC ..... take their time....:D:).... whenever...;)

I'm bummed I missed the reserves on these. I have been obsessed with the clip point WJs since I first laid eyes on them. Those are some very nice vintage versions too.

The S&M shown in post #25 looks to be longer than the 3 1/2" 2OT or GEC Washington Jack. To me making it longer makes it look not quite as attractive.
It always amazes me how with folding knives just a slight change in size or proportions can make a big change in the appeal of the knife. Size, proportions, and shape all have to be just right for a knife to stand out as "WOW!".
The Washington Jack is a "WOW!"
