Hello everybody!
Recently I started working with 8670 steel and I gotta say, I'm impressed! This little skinner is the first one completed from this steel.

Steel: 8670
Handle: Curly maple with carbon fiber pins.

Dimensions:
Overall lenght: 20.5 cm - 8.07''
Blade lenght: 9 cm - 3.54''
Blade widght: 3 cm - 1.18''
Blade thickness: 2.5 mm - 0.98''
Handle lenght: 11.5 cm - 4.52''

It has a full flat grind and an stonewashed finish. The spine is rounded for maximum comfort.
The first video shows an edge test on some steel rod. (I will add pictures to show the edge damage). The edge was 10 thousands behind the edge. There was some minor rolling but nothing that could not be fixed in a couple of minutes.
The second video is from my second test knife. I took the edge even thinner, ~4 thousands and tried the same test. The edges chipped this time. Therefore I did a bend test. This blade was not differentially heat treated but still was able to bend quite a bit. (I will add pictures of the grain).
Finally, I took the broken blade, reprofiled it a bit and retried the steel rod test. Again, at 10thousands behind the edge it was able to withstand the test.

It comes with a simple black leather sheath and a belt loop. The sheath is not ready yet, you can choose for either left or right side carry.

Thanks for looking!

Great little knife! Love the edge testing and photos!

You’re obviously doing a good job dialing in your heat treat, and those thin edges are da bomb!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

“Your knife...WILL cut!” :D:cool:

Also a very nice job on your stonewash, and the way you taper your handle scales so that they’re thicker mid-handle, tapering forward and back (top-of-tang view) is a nice, upscale finishing detail that improves ergonomics. Plus the upgraded woods you’re using in your handles are kicking your knives up value-wise several notches.

WITH leather @ $120? Great value!
