The story on that 901 is that it is a reproduction of one Hoyt Buck made back in the early 1940's, that was later stolen from the plant. When we moved here to Idaho, we thought it would be cool to do the ribbon cutting ceremony with a reproduction of that knife. I located several photos of it and we guessed on the size. We made a few blade blanks in various lengths and Chuck Buck picked out the one he thought was closest to the original.
I grabbed one of the others and had it made into my 20 year service award.
I think mine is closer to the size of the original by the way. I mean, what does Chuck know? Just because he actually held the original! Come to think of it, so did CJ and his sister Marilyn, at the ground breaking of the old Buck plant on Magnolia blvd in El Cajon.
So then we decided to do the LE run of the much smaller 901.
We still keep the largest one in the company store to show to folks who take the factory tour.

Hey SBJ, mine is not the big buck Buck like that one you posted.
Here is my (901-MT-0) along with a 120 (top) and a 119 (bottom) for scale.
The 402LE I received for my b-day is also pictured.

JOE...do you what the "58" on my 901 represents?
Thanks...
