940-1601 Cabelas Exclusive

I like it but the price is a bit steep. I do have $200 in Cabela's points but I was planning on putting that towards ammo.

I just bought my first 940 a few weeks ago. It was a little late to the game for someone who collects Benchmades but the 940 never grabbed me like it seems to grab other people. I did like the -2 enough to pick one up but I'm not sure I like it enough to get a second 940. According to Cabela's website, this is available to ship tomorrow.

I love the green spacers but the screws sticking past the liners are annoying.

SHOCKING price for ~3.4" of D2. Really disappointed (in the blade steel and/or price) because the scales are beautiful.

There is something funky and awesome about this folder. Want bad. Price hurts, though...

Beautiful, if a bit on the pricey side. But there are enough 940/943 junkies out there that BM will sell every one of them they make in short order, I suspect.
Still eyeing the 940-2 myself...

I own both the 940-02 and this Beauty.. if you are thinking of getting a 940-2 I would suggest you jump in with both feet.. :)
Love mine.. not only is it a great 940.. I love the differences between it and the other models.. the beveled scales in front (very Sebenza like) and the gimping on the top of the ass end of the knife.. not to mention the beautiful green standoffs..
Go for it.. you will not regret it.. IMHO

Ok.. she finally arrived yesterday afternoon.. I'm liken it.. :)
Now all I gots to do is fix the pocket clip.. I don't know why they keep putting them on the wrong side...

I love the Osborne 670 in the group photo. The first Benchmade assisted knife, it's always been a favorite; removing the torsion bar made it a great manual folder too!

Yes, I like the 670 a lot. When I called Benchmade a few months ago to order pocket clips the customer service guy was surprised I had one and very surprised that I had two. Are they difficult to come by?

Yes they're very hard to find. Yours and the later 672 are remarkably comfortable to hold and use. There's a rare version with a BT coated blade with light Micarta scales. The torsion bar, which is hard to get just right, and is held in place by one tiny set screw, is easily lost. I find the knife works much better with the bar removed, and assuming you have the tiny hex tool in the box or whatever, I used to tighten it into the frame for safe keeping, and put the bar, itself, in the box. Your photos taken with skill, given your handle, are terrific.

Very cool 940, one of my fav models by BM...Thanks for sharing!

For those of us with a dislike for aluminum scales, this knife is a pleasure to see. Bless Warren Osborne for designing the 94x series!

Then the 940-1501 or 940-2 should be up your alley.

Now, after seeing better pictures of this Cabela's one, I can see myself getting one and swapping my CPM-20CV blade into it.

This is a beautiful knife, saw one in person last night at a DFW area Cabelas (the one off 75 for locals, figure it out!), I just wish for 2 things to be different:

1) use CPM M4 steel for the blade.

2) offer a black blade version as well and use DLC instead of BK coating.
