940 or Small Sebenza. You can only have one of them. Which is it?

The correct question should be: TWO Benchmade 940s or ONE small Sebenza? (as their prices are not even in the same range).

That's why i said pretend that they cost the same. Because Otherwise I'm sure the price would influence a lot of peoples answer to the question lol.

I prefer my small Sebenza 21 to my 940-1. Both are great EDC knives, but the blade centering on my Benchmade drives me crazy! Even though I've had my sebbie for many years it still always feels special to use, where as my 940-1 just feels like a "normal" knife.

Guess I got lucky, but the centering on my 940-2 is perfect, and the knife operates quickly, and smoothly. I don't have a small Sebbie in which to compare, but do have a Sebenza 25 which I really like also. They are very different knives, and tough to compare. Obviously the Sebbie was over twice the price.

Small sebenza without any hesitation. The build quality is so far above the 940. Good blade, solid design.

Not sure that's LOL worthy. I like both locks, but on paper the Axis does look better since it's ambidextrous, keeps fingers out of the blade path and is easily replaceable.

The LOL wasn't for the lock comparison, I'm a fan of both.

Every post he makes has something to do with his troll like praise of the axis lock.

Gotcha. I'm terrible at keeping up with the names of trolls.

Lock comparison seems an odd criteria to base your decision on anyway given how different these two models are.

The small Sebenza doesn't work in my hand. It feels clumsy. I'll take the 940 all day over the small sebbie, but I'd rather have a large 21 than both of them.

I've owned multiple 940s over the years and always seem to let them go. I've held on and used my small CRK 21 Insingo for years now and it still sees lots of hard use. Like mentioned before being able to take it apart for cleaning is both meditating as well as a valuable feature. Now if we were including the the BM Anthem then it would be a different story since that sees more use these days than even my CRK..... of course that's a different discussion.

Price not being equal I'd take a small 21.

That said I'd take a large over the small.

I don't like either...and I have handled both.
That being said, the Sebenza. They are built with relentless precision
and are heirloom quality. Even if I don't like it one of my descendants will.
Best made knife I ever handled and did not care for. They are remarkable.
