940 vs Para 2

Do you like the Benchmade 940 or the Spyderco Para 2

I'm going 940-1 over the PM2 the 940 with aluminum handle I'll go with the PM2 . To me a better comparison for the 940 is the Caly 3.5 .

I prefer the 940 over the PM2. As was mentioned, the 940 disappears in the pocket, whereas I always know and feel the PM2 is there, especially digging into the bottom of my pocket for coffee change. I actually have to force myself to carry the PM2 once in awhile.
I've made myself fairly ambi. so I carry a lot of stuff in my non strong side pocket (so the knife doesn't get scratched up) ;) . . . even my keys.
Sick huh ?
Change goes in the "man purse" (AKA Knife Valet) change pocket. I hate change in my pants pocket, rarely use it and don't want to pick it out of all the other stuff in my pockets.

I've owned both and I prefer the 940; I still own that one. Everything I like about the PM2 I like better in the Military.

Refuse to vote since they are two totally different types of folders.
I have both and love both.
The 940 is slimmer/sleeker and looks a bit more fancy.
I slip it on my pocket when I want an attractive long bladed BM for light use.

The Para 2 is a full size harder use folder with a big comfy ergonomic handles that has a bigger outline when carried in the pocket.

Had both at one point.
Sold the PM2. Still carry the 940 often.
It was fun ti spydie flick, but afer that everything about the Para 2 is just "Meh". The 940 disappears in the pocket. While the PM2 is very obtrusive. Especially if you use the pocket for anything other than carrying a knife (I also carry my wallet in my knife pocket).

I have around 10 PM2s, just one 940-1 I definitely prefer the Spyderco, in fact I've considered selling the 940-1, it just seems a little delicate.

-Got work to do? PM2
-Want to drop something in your pocket and forget it’s there until needed? 940

-The PM2 is a bit of a pocket hog, but an exceptional performer.
-The 940 could be slicier, and would benefit from thinner blade stock.

Oddly, even though my 940-2 sees more carry time, if I was forced to pick one over the other, I’d probably go PM2. I think the PM2 is a better knife overall.

Well those where awful photos; even I can't tolerate them.
. . . try, try again . . .

As shown by Wowbagger’s stellar display of photography, the slender 940 has a longer cutting edge than the (by comparison) bulky PM 2. The tip on the 940 is also much more robust and won’t chip or break off if you look at it funny.

940 for me. I really like my 940-1.

Try a para3. Much more pocket friendly. I also keep wallet and its better than the pm2 in this respect. But yea hard to beat the 940 pocketability over most knives.
There you go Mo2 . . . one PM2 with a liner lock coming up.
Liner lock or ti frame lock like both versions of the militaries would be fine with me.

Well you know . . .
there is one deciding factor between the two
an unquestionable feature that one has and one sadly does not
a feature that any seasoned knife aficionado will recognize immediately and respect
it's an easy decision from there which is best
which is a must have and which is just :( . . . another knife
. . .
. . .
blue anodized aluminum barrel spacers
that's all I'm saying. ;) . . .
blue anodized aluminum barrel spacers ! ! !

I've had one PM2 and two 940s. Ended up selling the 940s and gifting the PM2 to my son-in-law since I really never bonded with it. Overall I prefer the PM3 but I am on the hunt for another 940 simply because I love how thin it rides in the pocket. My deal is when I get into our cars I don't want a clip eff'n up the leather seats so I just drop it into my pocket. That means it needs to be pretty thin. Based on that the 940 wins.

The compression lock pinches every once in a while. Sometimes it makes me think that I am coming into contact with the blade edge. Other than that, it is the perfect knife for me. I don't carry smaller blades too much. IMO, the 940 is too small, and expensive for what you get. I have two large Griptilians that I really like.

My vote went to the PM2. I have owned both and liked both, but with the PM2, you get a lot more knife for less money. Personally, I don’t find the super lightweight thing appealing, I prefer a little heft in my knives.

They’re both sexy knives but the PM2 is more useful and it’s the better built piece.
