I've been frequenting the GB&U over the last few weeks and most of the
bad deals I've seen have been lack of communication.
That is pitiful. Stupid. Dumb. Call it what you will, but it is ridiculous for that to ever happen.
(I know sometimes there might be emergencies etc that might come up, can't always help that)

I believe most of the replies in these threads all say the same thing.
"If you had only communicated better with the buyer/seller, everything would have been fine."
I think most of the time I over-communicate with sales/trades.
Doesn't matter if it's $10 or $500 worth of goods, I give the same attention to the transaction.
Is that so hard to do? NO!

Email, phone, PM, post in the thread, snail mail......each one is there for the choosing.

Yep, good communication would solve a great many of the problems when doing deals. It's just common courtesy to keep the other person you are dealing with informed about what is happening from your end.

I concur with ya Mike

In today's day and age, it doesn't hurt to do an extra click and type in 20-40 characters (not words, but at least characters) to let someone know what is going on.

Whether it's been a long day at work, tied up in traffic, stepped in a cow pattie...yada yada......it only takes 1 minute to send an email to someone, and nowadays a majority of the population can do that by a cell phone (guilty, I have a G-1 for this very purpose).

[/rant off]

Just my .02 as well, J.

I fully agree! Choosing not to communicate for a day or two sends the wrong message to the other party. I would be so easy to keep most people happy with solid communications.

while communication is essential imho ya cant expect daily updates from folks, lotsa folks just arent online every day, if ya do expect that ya are gonna be disappointed occasionally.

also the folks on BF are, to a great degree, not dealers and they have to mix in the packing and shipping and such with all the other stuff they have to do.

but ya do need to let folks know whats up, its certainly not asking too much for something in 3 or 4 days tops.
