Thanks James, and yours makes 3. I don't want to like the colors too much because then I might get the idea to start collecting colors, lol.

Lol! It's too late for me Alan. The 74 is my second orange camel bone... now I need a 3rd to make it a "collection".;)

Thank you my friend! I love the way the smooth camel bone takes orange dye. Makes the handle look all warm like a sunrise.

Hey, that's no horse of a different color! That's a 72 Cody Scout!
(Isn't it?, she asks, tentatively. Only questioning it because I'm kinda obsessed with 72s and 74s and I want to make sure I didn't miss something. :p)

You are correct !! That is a 72 from the first part of that run in 2016 . They also had a short run of them at the end with Satin finished blades that had a different Northfield stamping or engraving out on the blade.

bonzodog, that is a beautiful shot!!! Love pearlescent bone! Thanks for sharing it today. Absolutely beautiful!!!

After passing on this one and seeing the stock dwindle I finally pulled the trigger, these are truly stunning in person and pics do not do them justice....

Thats a nice one 007hunter.

I find the cougar claw bone a bit of a mystery. This handle has some great reviews on the forum, but they are still in stock in most dealers. I am tempted to get one but am not sure I need another 74 (i also have too many 72s and 73s). I have a cocobola on order and depending how much I like it, might swap it for a cougar.

Thank you sir. I love the cougar claw, it was a must have for me along with cocobolo! I am seeing just a few left out there, soon enough there will be none left 🤣

I'm all sorts of enamored with all of the 74s, but the Mustangs are my favorites. I like the drop point blade better than the clip. I haven't seen an orange one yet that I don't like; uniform color tone, marbled, lightning bolt crack down the length - they're all great looking. I wish I'd known I was going to like the DLT version so much so I'd've known to get one of each style. I have a snakewood on the way to me from Australia courtesy of ye old auction site and my yearly work bonus, though, so I'll have the three I like the best. :)

Of the Stallions, the cougar claw is my least favorite, but I'm fussy about texture and symmetry and that one has the most variable jigging so less certainty buying sight unseen. That's the reason I saved it for last, at least, and it occurs to me that I probably should have bought the cocobolo instead since that would take the texture variable out of the equation.

No such thing, my good man. No such thing. :D (The 72s are my second favorite GEC pattern.)
