A bad deal with Box27, (Mario Catala, FL.)

Oh, I get the point all right. It's not a good thing when someone doesn't follow the rules. Hmmmm, are there rules about lying on paypal and cheating them out of their funds?

In fact, if you had followed the rules on Paypal's site (do I see situational ethics here?) you would almost certainly have your funds back and Box 27 would still be the only bad guy? You didn't and you're bitching because someone else didn't follow the rules you expected them to follow? Can anyone spell "hypocrite"?

None of this makes Box 27 any less of scammer, but it certainly helps if one has clean hands when he complains. You don't.

Do you work for PayPal? Please step down off your high horse and allow the thread to go back to its main concern.
The OP was trying to do this community a service by reporting a bad deal.

Pro-PayPal Troll aside, I am not even sure filing a dispute would have helped in this situation. It would be very hard to prove to a PP employee that a $1000 custom knife has some flaws that could not be seen from the pictures. In any case, unless there is a situation where a seller is an outright scammer and does not ship his end of the deal, I believe issues like this should be resolved on the forum where the transaction took place.
The seller has some explaining to do and he should do it here ASAP.

I saw that he logs in (presumably to read this thread) but never posts anymore. He screwed up and should have offered a partial refund or took it back and made a new sales thread. I bet it would still sell with a small reduction in price for the flaw. Just my $.02 :)

I think he should just post here and say that he will cover the tab with Les. Knowing Les, I have no doubt that the knife will come back from his shop as good as new.
