1) It is an attempt to refine the design of the handle/ring assembly to make it more comfortable and useful as a kerambit. Bringing the fingers inline and making a more useful "Ramp" for the thumb.1. I don't understand the proposed pretzel of a handle.
2. Too long of a blade, the tip too far from the handle, and leverage is gone.
3. Lastly, the sickle-shaped blade terminating in a ripping point seems to be the whole, um, point of the affair. A khukuri-shaped blade with a slicing belly seems like a departure from the ideal shape (as is the case with Emerson's bull-nose karambit).
2&3) This is a khukuri/kerambit hybrid of sorts, which has been sold here for a few years now(since 2005,i believe) and is a popular model, designed by Dan Koster and some of the "old guard". Dan likes to call it the "keramshee" for its distinct forward curve and its handle ring. It is not meant to be a true kerambit. My other designs are an attempt to refine this existing model into a true fighting kerambit, based on the old model, while keeping the distinct flavor of Himalayan Imports.
