A big *** of Chris Reeve's mnandi

could you please name manufacturers that won't?

I really don't like to bash, but I've had a couple problems with my PT and SNG. I've put in several calls and a couple of emails to Strider with no response. Everytime I call CRK, someone answers the phone and that to me is a huge difference.

I just looked at my Mnandi. There has to be a serious problem with that knife for the tip of the blade to sit that high. If there is something between the tang and stop pin it'd be pretty noticeable.

I'd make that call to CRK or the dealer you got it from and have it fixed pronto. Get that baby fixed and you will love it. I'm really surprised it left the factory like that, but no one is perfect.

Nice Hummer in your avatar field! I sold mine last year, but WOW what beautiful beast!

Benchmade........I had an older benchmade, cant remember the model. I emailed them with a problem. They stated they did not make that model anymore and have a very limited number of parts. But they did offer me a wopping 10% off any new knife !!! Thats not the service I was looking for and have since then went souly to CRK because of his top notch customer service.

While this thread is up, I'd like to point out that the OP has been on the forums, as late as this morning, but has not yet followed up on any of the comments, suggestions and questions posted in this thread.

I'd like to hear if it was a bit of lint that prompted this thread, or whether the knife really left CRK in the condition depicted in the photos. Let us know Topgas!

 My thoughts, exactly.

Maybe he lost his thread?
I find it HARD to believe that knife went from CRK > OP (or thru a dealer that DIDN'T send out a return).
IMHO, too much link, dirt and small scratches to be NIB.

I don't know if it is just me but the spine near the tip looks to be upswept a little too much, so it sticks out. maybe it's just the pictures.

I love how people jump at the chance to bash a certain manufacturer. As already stated above we really need more info, because the knife definately looks used. Even if I got it like that from the factory, I wouldn't discount the whole CRK line. Also what makes CRK stand out from others is that they'll take care of it. Hopefully the OP will report back with birth cert details. Topgas put in a call to CRK.

Kind of like how the fanboys bash someone and come up with excuses anytime something negative is mentioned about the manufacturer they have a bizarre love affair with.

Maybe not a bizarre love affair but years of experience with a proven quality product.

The blade looks like it is not closed all the way. The tip of the blade on my mnandis sit very deep in the handle. Looks like something may be lodged against the stop pin preventing full closure.

Methinks the OP didn't lose his thread... it's caught up in the Mnandi's blade pivot!

I, too, would like to know the fault.

Years ago, an odd/occasional ftf was noted in my S&W 625, a .45 ACP revolver employing moonclips. It was a thread from my cotton swipes, used to clean the gun, caught up under the ejector star and wound around the ejector rod base/star connection. I gave in to my prebsbyopic eyes - and wear reading glasses when I clean guns - and do anything with a knife.

Anyone else think it's a bit odd that this is the member's first and only post? Nothing like going right after CRK's manufacturing quality reputation right from the very start. Something doesn't seem right to me.

I guess after reading so much about quality and etc, pay lot of money, and got this - topgas became upset, because it is defenetly not what is expected. This make topgas post it here. I do not see anything unusual - saw this many times.

After seeing so much replays from angry CRK fans - he do not want to continue. Which is probably best tactic in such situation - on my experience it is impossible to reason fans, they will came with bunch of new blames and not listen, because they are very sure in conspiracy against their subject of worship.

There are enough proves that topgas has not so perfect knife NIB - he did good job making all those pictures. Every manufacturers time to time have something like this this is just real life - I do not see ant tragedy here, I am sure it will be replaced and so on.

Of course this break some dreams about miraculous manufacturer who never fail - but so what? Let marketing drons deal with this... Why to worry about it.

From other hand it is strange to expect that nothing never go wrong and nothing ever pass QA. The failure rate here is what important - is this happens for one in every ten thousand knives or is this happens for one in every hundred? And how fast it will be fixed?

Thanks, Vassili.

Am I missing something? It looks fresha and new to me.

Exactly. I'm not sure if some people are seeing things or what but there is no signs of carry on that knife. Just looks like some dust / debris that is landed on the knife from sitting out for a couple hours, on a knife that shiny every speck will stand out. If a knife had been carried long enough to have a build up of pocket lint in the amount that it altered its closed position there would certainly be more signs of carry.

I do find it kinda strange that this is the posters first post but there is still something wrong with that knife and it ain't pocket lint.

Where is the proof this knife was received NIB? The OP hasn't responded to any of the questions in this thread.

Buy knives with pronounceable names.

umnumzaan...mnandi... What's Swahili for "high horse?"
