A big *** of Chris Reeve's mnandi

You shouldn't be at all surprised at the reactions from the fanboys. It's amazing at how a CRK must be used (when it clearly wasn't) or a possible fake when a problem arises. Kind of sad when the fanboys have to get so riled up over a defective knife.

Nobody got riled up. You're just another one that was hoping this thread got out of hand. It hasn't and that just isn't good enough so we have more fanboy this...fanboy that.

These threads are often annoying. There was no overt aggression, but it's pretty insulting to the OP to tell him to look closer at his used fake knife when he gives us a ton of close-up photos of his is NIB knife in the first post. Zero credit given to the buyer of a high-end production knife, he just has to be a little blind and/or stupid.

You make a good point but this is a forum where questions are going to be asked based on individual perception. Some saw a NIB knife and others questioned it. Polite and/or non-aggressive questions and answers is best we can hope for most of time. I don't think in this particular thread anyone had any intention of insulting the OP even though that may have been the unintended result.

Sorry if we beat up you topgas and I hope you stick around.

Hehe. Total of two posts, lots of purdy pictures of the offfending knife; proof of slip-shod construction and quality assurance. No further response after the original postiing. I reckon it could be the real deal but my vote is on a bit of pocket lint or slip pouch leather accidentally lodged in a critical place or, more likely, a complete set-up from the git-go. He got ya, guys, spit out the hook while you still can. As a matter of fact he got me too. This is five minutes of my life I'll never get back. :D

I am wondering what is official CR response?

Thanks, Vassili.

P.S. Can we stop calling topgas OP? I think it is not quite pollite. What do you think poster #10?

Hopefully the OP will come back with how this all worked out. I'd like to see what CR has to say about this particular knife as well.

P.S. There are lot of other threads right now where the original poster is being referred to as "OP." You better get to work and straighten everyone out.

I guess I'll just use SecondaryPoster#10 or something like this - should not be offensive. Yes let call each other posters...

Thanks, Secondary Poster #37.

I hink this is new trend to this forum. I was quite pollite for last 7 years, but now it do really see those O.P. here and there. Personaly - I do not like this.

I changed my user title to reflect my new name...SecondaryPoster#10. What happens when I post in another thread? I'll have to keep changing it I guess whereas the OP will always be.....the OP.

Exactly! This is why we have nicks here - to not to call each other Posters.

Thanks, Vassili.

You're always only a couple of clicks away from peace of mind. ;)

Someone reading this thread might not necessarily remember that his user name is topgas, but you say OP and anyone knows what your talking about. He’s being called OP because he is the OP and anyone who’s read or scanned the thread knows that, I’ve been following the thread from the beginning and I having a clue who poster #10,14, 17 or 21 is. Its not rude at all to call him that, no more then its rude for someone to call me J. Mattson instead of Jesse Mattson, or J.M instead of J.Mattson, its just shorter and easier.

I’d say that the knife probably is NIB, or at least it was when he bought it. When I get a knife time from package to pocket is 3-5 seconds. Its possible that the marks we see come from a day or two of carry before he really started to look at the knife.

If this is a QC mistake from CRK then that’s unfortunate for the OP (ok, topgas) and for CRK mistakes like this are very rare but not unheard of no matter what your buying and from who. Things slip by, that’s life. If that’s the case then CRK being CRK will fix it.

Its also very likely that the entire problem like mentioned above is the cause of some pocket lint or something like that suck in a bad place.

I think the reason people expect the problem to not be a factory problem is because Chris Reeve knives wins manufacturing quality awards year after year. What is it nine out of the last ten years or something? It isn't being a fanboy.

I've bought 2 Custom knives and neither had nearly the quality that the 6 Sebenzas I have had did. Each and every knife I have received from them has been absolutely flawless. I am not being a fanboy, I am relating to you my honest experience. When I saw this thread and the way parts of the picture are blocked out, my initial feeling was that there is no way this came from the factory like this.

Maybe it did come from the factory this way. Maybe it didn't. I just believe the reason most people suspected another explanation is because of the reputation Chris Reeve knives have EARNED. They don't market the latest greatest steels, or best ergonomics, or hardest use. They market quality and consistency, and by and large they deliver.

Y'all got a lot of nerve calling a newbie by his initials. Spell it out proper like. . . . .OPIE
!!
