Thanks a lot Charlie, that's a small table, with a marquetry lid, a music box, and compartmentalised interior, I picked up on Leeds market this week for £6. The legs are removable, and I'm not interested in the musical element, but at that price, I thought it might make cheap knife storage!

Those smooth white bone turned out amazing! I knew I was voting for Ivory bone for a good reason! I've wrestled with the hemlock whether to throw it in my pocket or not, but that white bone would have been a no-brainer IMHO. Congrats to those who were lucky enough to get one.

I didn't get one, but my name did happen to pop up on Rhidian's books back in late Nov. or early Dec., and it was around that time I had been thinking it sure would have been nice to have the forum knife win the white bone vote...

As far as I am aware… “oiled” means that they oil the bone so as to bring out the yellow-ish tinge. The bone is basically “storing” the oil in the less dense parts and creating a white/yellow contrast.
