A confession.

I know a guy that makes damn good money scuba diving the local party rivers after holiday weekends. Rolex's, knives, jewelry and tons of sun glasses, even some guns now and again. Though I wouldn't touch a gun from a body of water myself. lol
I worked with a guy who was a SAR diver on the Colorado River which at the time (probably still) had a bunch of floating bars on barges. He’d go diving under those to see what he could find, I don’t know if he ever found a Rolex but he said he’d find a ton of fancy sunglasses and wallets. He once found a body of a guy who’d fallen out of a boat a couple days earlier too.

I’ve gone back and forth between folder and fixed, but it’s hard to argue with the logic of a small fixed blade.

Mine is a Fiddleback Forge Esquire, horizontal carry at 11:00.

I carry both, I always have a SAK Camper and small fixed blade on me and 99% of the time I have an additional folder. If I could only carry a single knife I would always choose a fixed blade.

Some really, really cool fixed blades here. I too appreciate the simplicity, strength and functionality of a fixed blade - but what is often overlooked, even in this great thread, is the sheath. The sheath is, so some degree, almost as important as the knife itself.

I too prefer the 11:00 - 11:30 horizontal carry of a sub 4" fixed blade BUT it's got to be on the right sheath. That's the variable I struggle with and sincerely invite suggestions.
