Went to the post office this morning to pick up a parcel which had been sent my way by Ray Cover.
Ray, as many of you know, is a top notch custom maker and all around good guy whose work represents an incredible value.
I picked up four knives, two of which are being sent this afternoon to my buddies Thomason & Fewpop. The other member of our little association, Mike Robuck, will be receiving his separately and hopefully will post an image upon its arrival.
It's pouring outside today so I can only offer these inferior images taken indoors on my counter under poor lighting.
The fit and finish on all four knives is top drawer and just what the doctor ordered on this stormy Friday afternoon.
The "shadows" are all 3.5" closed with ivory micarta, red liners and D2 blade steel. The "bolstered" knife is 3 7/8" with amber bone stag and D2.
(The color of the ivory micarta is "off" in the images. The actual color is much closer to true ivory, like the creamy shade of a vintage piano key.)
The topmost knife is Ford's, the second is Rob Thomason's, and the last two are mine.
Without further ado:
Some additonal images added when the rains stopped:
Shadow:
Single Blade Trapper:
Single & Double Blade Trappers:
