Beautiful knives, does Mr. Cover have a website. You can PM or e-mail if it is improper to post on here. Thanks.

Pat

Elliott, I'd say, all in all you had a Good Friday ;)
Very nice, Cover's are always welcome in just about any household!

Hi Pat,

Ray doesn't have email or a website. (He's a real tradtional maker like J.B. Moore. You have to get hold of them the old fashioned way. :p)

I'm not absolutely certain, but I don't believe he is taking orders from new customers either.

Some images taken on the porch a few minutes ago of the shadow and the single blade trapper alone and with its big brother (double blade trapper).

Elliott,

Nice looking set of knives!

What is the weight difference between the shadows and the bone counterpart?

I like the antique ivory Micarta as a scale material, Good choice.

Thanks, Ken.

Remember they aren't the same size closed...

Shadow: 2 3/8 oz.

Trapper: 3 1/8 oz.

Thanks Elliot,
From the looks of your knives, I can tell his backlog is well deserved. Thanks for sharing.

I am sitting on the curb by the mail box just waiting. Waiting for a knife by Ray with a big thanks to Blues. Waiting, just waiting.

Here is what I posted in the Knives Want to Buy Forum back in August of 2007. "I have never seen this model by Ray Cover except in this one picture. Kind of a Sodbuster look to it. I know it's a long shot (a very long shot) but if you have one to sell, email me and we will talk." I added a picture of a Cover shadow that I found somewhere on the web. One of the responses to that post was that the one in that picture was the only one Ray had ever made. I figured I stood no chance of ever having one.

Fast forward to April of 2009 and thanks to the kindness of Blues I now have one, as does fewpop (Ford), Mike Robuck and Blues himself.
Here are some shots of mine. The color of the micarta is not really white but has a slight creamy look to it. Ford suggested the red liners that really look great with micarta. D2 with standard Cover fit and finish.

Nice one, Rob. Hmmm, maybe I shoulda kept that one! ;)

(The pleasure, as you know, was all mine.)

Great pictures Rob. I like seeing the liners.

I was able to add Elliott to an order of mine a few years ago, so I'm glad to see the circle has grown larger.
