This has always been the way sales and trades have been conducted on Bladeforums... No matter what the rules are at any given time, this is the golden rule and will be backed up by the old guard, people who have been buying, selling and trading on BFC for a long time...You can harp on the rules all you want but realize that THIS is the rule, if broken, will pretty much guarantee your reputation and future as a seller or trader on Bladeforums.
So...don't spend the money until the buyer has had a reasonable time to inspect the knife, don't sell off that knife you just traded for until you know the other party is keeping theirs...
It is a pretty simple rule to follow...give the buyer or the other trader a couple days to get back to you that they are happy with their purchase or the knife that they traded for before you spend the money or trade or sell off the knife...it will save a whole lot of trouble and possibly a damaged beyond repair reputation.
