Alright everyone, if one of you would be so kind as to indulge me, I’d really appreciate it.

I just snagged a GSO 3.5 and am waiting for it to ship. I have searched this forum and have googled for pics. Can one of you please post a comparison pic with another knife, like a large Sebenza, Griptilion, Victorinox SAK or an Osborne 940 so I can get a better idea of what to expect.

Thanks in advance.

Enjoy! It's a great knife!

Slysz Bowie
PM2
Cqc-7
GSO 3.5
Large Sebenza 21
XM-18 3.5
Mini-grip

The best I could do was a SAK Farmer. My folder game is very weak! One day an Umnumzaan might appear.

Thanks for the photo ni1s. I am surprised the 3.5 is shorter in length compared to the PM2, large Sebenza and the XM18, all 3 knives I have had experience with. It looks like a pretty compact knife for a day hike.

Its nice for a day hike, a day at work or just one in the yard. Since I got mine it hasn't left my side. Love this little blade, fits my hand like a glove.

Yes, it surprised me too. :) I hadn't really thought of it before I took the photo.

It's a great EDC knife, it just disappears in the pocket. Also the skeletonized liners make it really light. My only "concern" is that the handle is a bit too short and thin for me, so I added liners to make it more comfortable. And I believe the handle of the new 3.5 will be just perfect, and I don't think the bigger size will be much of an issue.

All in all, I love it. :)

Perfect. Thank you

Guys, thank you all so much. I EDC a SAK a Farmer and a large Sebenza. I've been looking for a small light fixed blade to EDC and possibly replace my Sebenza, for just over a year now, and haven't found the right one. I have a new 3.5 on pre-order with Survive! But I'm about as impatient as a spoiled child, so when I found an old spec available I snatched it up. Now I just have to wait for the torturous 2-day shipping. Your pics and comments are making it easier. Thank you.

Based on the mockup that you did, the new 3.5 is only a tad bigger on the handle. I think it should still be quite compact. Thanks so much for the effort!

Just think before you know it it'll be snuggled in your mitt just like this one.

Rub it in.:p

Tuesday night according to the tracking number. Why the heck didn't I just pay for overnight? I'm kicking my self!

Seriously, thank you all for the great pics and comments.

I think you'll be pleased. The 3.5 has made and saved me quite a bit of money by replacing every folder I've had or wanted.

Mind if I ask how you carry it?

This is what I have coming:

I don't think I've ever been so bummed about having time off of work. At least if I was working the time would go by quicker. I should stop complaining. I was able to get one in the steel I wanted. I'm happy.

Thanks,

I carry it with the clip flipped over. It's small enough that I don't get any flack from people.

I find it easier to remove this way plus it drops the knife ride height down a couple inches.

Hmmm... I've been trying to decide what my first SURVIVE! will be and thought I might go with the 3.5. Looking at these pictures, I'm afraid it'd be too small for my hands to fit comfortably. Thanks for the comparison pictures!

The new spec handle will be a little more contoured. I think you will be surprised.

You must have some big paws!
Maybe the 4.1 or 4.7 would work for you.

Very wide palms with short fingers. It makes finding knives that are comfortable in use difficult. Even the Becker handle is too short and too thick. Actually, the one picture in this thread with the Paramilitary 2 clued me in that the 3.5 would be too small, as I love everything about the Paramilitary 2 but the main grip area is too short, and the 3.5's grip area looks to be shorter.

Standard got me carrying mine the same way. Much easier on/off the belt. To me it rides just right for public areas cause its not dangling in sight. And just as he said its small enough I don't get too many funny looks.

As for the size, I wear a medium glove and their tight. I have just about 3/8-1/2 inch left on the handle with a normal purchase. The new spec 3.5 will be a bit larger but the 4.1 may be right up your ally if your wanting an edc fixed blade.
