A Favor asking for Pics of GSO 3.5

Great comparison pics nils and Standard. Man the 3.5 is really 'little big knife' ha! I don't think of it that small in use.

ALLHSS, before I got a 3.5, I was dead set that it wouldn't fit my hands. I don't have huge hands, but not tiny either. I usually wear XL gloves although some L fit me. I picked up a 3.5 and absolutely love it. Guy just has ridiculous talent in the ergonomics department.

Just wait till the new version comes out! That extra half inch on the handle and the new ergonomics will probably help out you guys with Sasquatch hands! [emoji6]

Look into a 4.1 I have a buddy with smaller hands then my girl scout paws and a buddy with yeti paws, they both found it comfortable. My buddy with yeti paws loved the 3.5 too. So I wouldn't count it out, the egos might surprise you.

I came within a whisker of ordering a new version 3.5, but then decided to give the 2.7 a try. I'm going through this exact same argument for it, but the 3.5 surprised me so much I couldn't keep from ordering the 2.7.

This is scary. I just checked my hand and it's almost identical in width. Give or take about an eighth of an inch depending on the angle I look at it. I wear 2XL gloves and they are usually tight. Your hand looks like a younger less furry version of mine.

That being said, I do a lot of whittling with a Victorinox Farmer. So, I think there is an element of individual preference involved. I'll let you know when I get it what I think. I'll try to take a pic of my hand on a tape measure tonight to show I'm not full of crap. I'll definitely take some pics of the knife in my hands when I get it so you can see.

It'll be interesting to see how the 2.7 fits a bigger hand. Have you ever handled an Izula or Izula 2?

Thank you. While I'm excited for the old-spec 3.5 to get here, (tomorrow due to weather difficulties according to UPS) I Pre-ordered a new-spec 3.5 also.

It'll be cool to see a real side to side review once the new ones come out. The new 3.5 looks like the handle is almost as big as the 4.1 and that really sold me on it. The full tang is a great added bonus for that extra bit of security. I doubt anyone has broken a 3.5, but it's just nice to know its that much more solid.
Please keep us posted once you get that 3.5. I'm hoping it works out well.

I don't have an izula, but I've got several swamp wardens that are very similar in size to an izula. They work well for me. It is the middle knife in this comparison picture of Oeser's:

Yeah, I think I'll be good with the 2.7. Ellie said that the people who have held a 2.7 have been surprised with how it felt in-hand. I keep looking at the handle contour of the new 3.5's in nils picture, though. Man it looks really good.

It looks like the the handle will be 4in. or close to that on the 2.7 so that's a huge plus.

I had to go grab a tape measure off of my nightstand (don't ask) and do a hand measurement. It looks like Redwood22 and I are hand twins. It about 3 1/2in. wide finger to finger.

I love the new looks of the 3.5's but I keep looking at the 2.7 and kicking my self for not getting one too. In due time I guess.

You are one size bigger than me. I have the PM2 and the 3.5. Both fit me well, but I agree with Standard78 you should wait for the new S!Ks to come out. I assume you need a 4 3/4" or a 5" handle length? All of my current med to large (4.1, 5 ,5.1, 6 and 7/7) GSO handles are 4.5". I believe the new handles are about 5", at least from the 4.1 up. Anyway, the new 4.1, 4.7 or the 5.1 would be a great place to start. I would bet there will be 5.1s available for general sale this month or next. These are the hands down the toughest and best utility/survival/camping knives that I own.
