A Favor asking for Pics of GSO 3.5

I love the new looks of the 3.5's but I keep looking at the 2.7 and kicking my self for not getting one too. In due time I guess.

Haha same here! I fought myself for a couple weeks over the two but decided the 3.5 just made more sense. The 2.7 will most likely be a must have in the future.

You are one size bigger than me. I have the PM2 and the 3.5. Both fit me well, but I agree with Standard78 you should wait for the new S!Ks to come out. I assume you need a 4 3/4" or a 5" handle length? All of my current med to large (4.1, 5 ,5.1, 6 and 7/7) GSO handles are 4.5". I believe the new handles are about 5", at least from the 4.1 up. Anyway, the new 4.1, 4.7 or the 5.1 would be a great place to start. I would bet there will be 5.1s available for general sale this month or next. These are the hands down the toughest and best utility/survival/camping knives that I own.
Thanks! That's great info, I'll be looking for them to come up for sale.

Alright guys, here she is:

My apologies for not getting a pic to show the width of my hand, I cannot manage to get a decent pic, but believe me, it’s a twin of ALLHSS.

As for my impressions of the knife, I’ll start off by saying WOW!!! I love it. Yes the handle is a touch on the small side for my meat hooks, but it’s still very manageable. The grind lines are perfect, and the edge is fantastic. If the former owner ever used it, I’d be surprised. The sheath is a typical Survive! Sheath. Incredible! This is the second one I’ve handled, and they were both incredible. Setting aside an individual’s preference for method of attachment/ride height, the sheath itself, and the other one that I handled are the best Kydex sheaths I have ever handled/used.
I think that this is the perfect sized fixed blade knife for EDC. It’s not so big that it is uncomfortable to carry, and not so small that I cannot accomplish realistic everyday tasks. Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to get outside and use it, I will, but I did use it in the Kitchen for a couple of nights. It performed as good or better than my Sebenza for food prep. Sorry, no pics. I have however, been carrying it EDC since I received it. It fits in with the rest of my EDC perfectly. So much so, that I’m thinking I might retire my Sebenza and EDC this in its place.

I know I’m not the most articulate guy, and I probably could have done a better job with this little “first impression” review, but you get the Idea, and there will be more to come.

The last thing I wanted to say, is that I now have TWO 3.5s on Pre-Order with Survive! Read into that what you want, but I’ll tell you I am very pleased with this little guy, and I'm really looking forward to the redesigned handles.

Thanks for your impressions, you did just fine  It is interesting to see how these knives are working out for people with such different sizes/shapes of hands. And that G-10 looks great!! I don't know that I would have considered that option before, but will now. That's the black & green?

It is so hard to determine which GSO to go for based on pictures. These things are deceptively comfortable and usable whether big or small. Congrats!!

Woohoo! So happy to hear she arrived. Love the handle. What color sheath?

Can't wait to see some outdoor pictures.

Thank you. As to the G10 I'd say beggars can't be choosers, I was just happy to find a 3.5 in CPM20CV. I'm pleased with the G10 though. It's not as slick as everyone makes it out to be, and yes, I believe it is the Green and Black. I’d also agree that they are deceptively comfortable, but now after having spent a little bit of time with it, and after handling the new-spec 5.1 I am giddy for the new-spec 3.5s to come out.

The Sheath is Black, which works out for me. I wear Black undershirts to mitigate the contrast of my black sidearm/black holster in the event I wind up in an awkward position and my cover garment allows exposure of my gear.
I’ll do my best to get some good photos of my woods bumming and use with it, although I make no guarantees as to the quality of the photos as my abilities there are sorely lacking.

Thanks Again.

Anyone having pics of the 3.5 next to a Busse Magnum Bear Cup?

Thanks in advance

Ragnerok, how you doing man? I don't have a MBC but I snapped a picture of a couple you'll know, a 3.5 steak knife and a swamp warden. Hope they help.

That's great to see that it worked out so well for you! I don't think I've ever seen that handle color so I'm curious to know when this one was produced. You might have one a pristine 1st or 2nd run knife that has been begging to be used.

Thanks HK! Seen the 3.5 next to a SR Warden, but was curious about the MBC (have MBC) due to that i need a small fixed carry knife at work (pocket size) togheather with my VIC Pioneer, 3.5 looks right up my alley, 3.5 sems to have a nice size use friendly handle and beeing pocketfriendly too. Thanks anyway, bro

No problem brother. Guy is building the 2.7 as well, it's going to be a bit though before those become available. The 3.5 is a great little blade.

Lol. At .090" thickness, the steak knife is indeed quite a different blade from the GSO 3.5 :)
