I'd love a carbon steel modern folder, but not at the CRK/Hinderer price point. Now something like a tenacious, or RAT folder with a 1095 blade would be really fun.

I bought my Sebenza as a hopefully life long companion kinda knife, and I don't think carbon steel is as suited to that purpose as well as stainless.

I was trying to stay away from the powder metallurgy steels.....

I know the answer to an RHK/CRK in 3V and M4.

I like 1095 I have a few blades in it and am actively trying to get two more.

Past a certain point it just gets out classed by other steels. Carbon or stainless. Especially when you're taking about price.

I started a thread talking about rat folders in 1095 or some other steel in Ontario knife subforum. I agree, something less expensive until it proves it's worth

Most of my kitchen knives are carbon steel knives (white #1, super blue, 52100, ...), but IMO it is just not practical for a folder (in particular if it is to be carried in a pocket) to be made out of carbon steel. I do love the performance and how easy these are to sharpen and de-burr, but getting rust on pivot on a $500+ knife is not very motivating.

I wouldn't be interested in either of those manufacturers but Spyderco has a lot of knives that would be great in 1095.

I'd love a nice 1095 or similar carbon steel folder. Some day I'll have a couple. Right now there just don't seem to be enough out there to make a good, quality choice.

i have no interest in those knives but a sak electrician with 52100 blades would be about right.
